Kype, Scotland

I have recently discovered that there is a place in Scotland name "Kype". There is also a Kype River in the same locale. The "Annals of Lesmahagow" make reference to Kype and also a William de Kype in 1301. I wonder if this is could be an ancestor of Ruloff de Kype. This would mean that the family is most likely of Celtic or Viking descent rather than being from France. Does anyone have anything to add?

I traced my ancestry back to a Ruloff Kipp, don't know if this is the same one. I'm a direct decendent of James Kipp, who married a Mandan woman by the name of Earth Woman, whose father was the Mandan Chief Four Bears, their son who is my grandfather is Joe Kipp, who married Martha Heavey Runner a Blackfoot Woman.

Hello GGKipp.
Can you provide your family tree data via a GEDCOM?
You may contact me at kippster39@yahoo.com.
You should also contact Edward Kipp at edward.kipp@gmail.com
who is also a direct decendent of Ruloff De Kype
You should also contact Scott Aaron at rtanyon@yahoo.com
who is also tracing the Kipp line.
We all would like to add your line/tree to ours.
Happy Ancestor Hunting.

Can you provide a "GEDCOM" of your ancestry.
I am trying to connect the Kipp line out of Canada to your Blackfoot line.

If memory serves, the native American lines connect through Samuel Kipp (b:1753), son of Benjamin Kipp. I don't think I've seen any native American Kipp lines that don't trace back through him and his descendants, though I can't be 100% sure on that.

I'm sure Edward's line/gedcom is a lot more complete than mine. Here is a link to James Kipp (Samuel's son) and a lot of the native American/Canada lines trace back through him.
