Hi - I am looking for John b16Mar1888 in Methlick Aberdeenshire Scotland & Jemima Dempster b17Jul1883 in Forgue Aberdeenshire Scotland. They emigrated to Canada around 1911 with their 2 children Annie born possibly around 1910 and Alexander born 1911. They moved before the first world war and had another child Gordon in Canada. Jemima lived to over 100 and when they retired they moved to Edmonton and had a Rooming house.

Desperately trying to find any relatives from this side of the family as Jemima was my great aunt and she a beneficiary in her brother-in law's will. But to date we have not found any decendants of John & Jemima.... Can anyone help?

Regards

Patsy

Hi Yvonne

I am very interested in George Kynoch as my research showed John as being the eldest. If George was his brother then he was born out of wedlock as John and Jemima married in 1887. This may have been the problem in tracing Georges family tree. My connected is that my grandmother Elizabeth Dempster b1895 d1951 [the youngest of 8] was Jemima's sister.

Hi Patsy,
My Grandfather George Kynoch is the brother of John or Jack Kynoch who is married to Jeminia Dempster. Is John and Elizabeth Logan, George and John Kynoch's parents?

Is Richard Dempster the brother of your grandmother?

I have a picture postcard of James Kynoch.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers Yvonne

Hi Patsy,
George Kynoch was born in Scotland. George came to Canada about 1904 with a brother. He married my grandmother Marion Groggins Slater in Saskatoon around 1918. They had a farm in Eastend Saskatchewan. When the Dust bowl came in the 1930’s they lost their farm, they moved to Tilbury Ontario in 1937 or 1938 and started a farm there.
Norm Groggins is a son from my grandmother's first marriage. Lily, Gladys (my mom) Jimmy, Mary, Elsie and Kathleen are all Kynoch children of George and Marion Slater Kynoch.
If you like, their full names birth and death dates just ask me.
Cheers Yvonne

If you send me your email address to patsy@louer.co.uk I will send my geo file with my family tree. Only send me your address if you can open a geo file or you could do a family tree on the 'genes reunited' site. www.genesreunited.co.uk you can do searches for matches on your tree and I believe John and George are in 2 others as well as mine. It shows John & George Kynoch. Yes John and Elizabeth were their parents and Richard Dempster was my Grandmothers brother.

Patsy

Hi Brian

Thank you for replying to this thread.
We were originally trying to find relatives of Jemima Dempster [my great aunt] as there was a relivate we thought had died in testate but a will was found and it has all been sorted out now. My connection is through the Dempster side of the family. Jemima Dempster was one of 7.
Jessie, Richard, Christopher, Fredderick, Elizabeth and Mary.
Elizabeth was my Grandmother, who was married to John McBoyle. Mary married a John Finnie and had 2 sons Sandy and Willy. Neither married or had family and it was Willy that died leaving a small farm. Solicitors were trying to find relitaves. A will was then found and all is sorted now.

Regards

Patsy

Good to hear that you have sorted it out. Just one thing that you have incorrect in the thread, is that my Grandparents, John and Jemima moved to Calgary not Edmonton.
