Hi,
I've never posted a message before, but I think your Anthony and Mary Kyne are my great grandparents. If so, they had a son also named Anthony who married my grandmother Bridget Walsh. They had several children including my mom,who immigrated to the U.S in the 1960's. The Kyne's changed their name to Coyne sometime in the 1930's or 40's because of reasons unknown to me. The Coynes still live in Lettermore although Bridget passed away in the early 90's. I met her once, she was an incredible human being. If we are ralated, you would have been very proud of her as she would have been of you. My grandfather, Tony Kyne died before I was born but I heard he was also a kind person. I guess thats all we really need to know about our family, that they were kind and caring human beings. I was told I was named for my great grandmother Mary (a derevation of the name Maura). I was also told she had flaming red hair, i'm a brunette...I guess you can't get it right all the time! Maura

I am a great grandson of Anthony Kyne, the land owner you mentioned in Buffalo Co.,NE. Yes Michael Kyne was his younger brother. They also had another sister with family in the same area by the name of O'Connor. I would really like to know where you fit in and what information you have.

I am a great-grandson of the Anthony Kyne (married Bedelia Burke) you mentioned in Buffalo Co.,Ne. Yes Michael was his younger brother. They also had a sister, married to O'Connor, in the same area. I would like to know where you fit into the family and what information you have that I don't. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you, Thanks, Gary Kyne

Hi There

I realise you originally posted your message over 10 years ago! But I am hoping that the Honor Kyne you mentioned in your post is my Great Grandmother?
My Grandfather was born in May 1910, John Duffy. Do you have any further information on Honor Kyne?
I recently got John Duffys Birth Certificate and Honor (Nora) is named as his Mother. I am finding tracing his roots very hard! I only recently found out about John being my Grandfather and I have no contact with anyone in Ireland. I have found Nora on the 1911 Census and I can estimate her year of birth as being 1878 ish. So your year of birth that you mention could mean its the same person?

Thank you Claire
