I am descended from Elizabeth KYLE, who was b abt 1747 at Fallowfield Twp., Washington County, Pennsylvania. I do not know the names of her parents - hence this posting!

Elizabeth KYLE married Friedrich COOPER about 1772. Friedrich COOPER was b 21 Jan 1743 in PA, son of Johann Leonard KIEFFER and Anna Maria Schaeffer (note the Americanization of the name from KIEFFER to COOPER). Elizabeth's and Friedrich's children included Frederick Kyle COOPER (my ancestor; 12 Oct 1775-21 Sep 1843), who married Elizabeth FRYE (25 Jan 1777-21 Sep 1852). Descendants were in the area of Charleroi, PA for several generations.

Does anyone know anything of the ancestry of Elizabeth KYLE COOPER?

Sorry, I can't help - I'm still stuck in the 19th century. She may be a part of my family, but I have no way of knowing yet.

Washington County was created 28 Mar 1781, but that is NOT the problem. Do you already have information on this family?

As a direct descendant of Frederick Cooper and Samuel Frye, as well as other pioneer settlers in Washington County, this is one source that I have already come across in my research. Thanks for sending the link, but, sadly, it doesn't add much to my quest for information on the KYLE family.

I am also a descendant of Frederick Cooper and Elizabeth Kyle through their son, George. So anyone with any information on Elizabeth's parents, I would appreciated the help. Sounds like the Kyle family has been in that area for a long time. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to track down. But from some of the bios of Frederick it sounds like he might have married her in Frederick Virginia, not Belle Vernon. Fallowfield Twp history says he went back east to his family and his wife died. He married Elizabeth Kyle and returned to Fallowfield. So I'm going in that direction. However in the Westmoreland history it mentions that the Kyles had been in Belle Vernon area since the 1700s. Who knows? Maybe Frederick convinced some of her family to move with them.
