Hello. Yes I do have Augustine in Gallia county Ohio. Apparently he moved between 1820 and 1827,because he appears there on the Southern Ohio Taxpayers: Page 29,Kyer,Agustus Gallia 1827 ch RA/107 ( chattel tax, raccoon township page 107).He is then in the 1830 federal census for raccoon twp. Gallia county Ohio. In that he is listed as Augustus Kyre with 1male between ages 30-40, 1 male between 70-80 and 1 female between 60-70.
From which of Augustine's sons do you descend? I am currently trying to place his buriel, which appears to be Gallia county but until I get there to physically look around Raccoon township, I am holding off. I live in central Ohio and have corresponded with quite a few descendants of old Augustine. Write me back if you have any other questions, and maybe together we will break through another brick wall. I have found no trace as of yet who his parents were, although I suspect we are looking at a Canadian migration. The first records I have found of him place him in Augusta county Virginia. Specifically in the court documents of the Scotch-Irish settlement. What all have you found? You may email me directly at
