Hello Dawn,
I have been trying to understand the origin of the Kwader name. My great grandfather, Joseph Wisniewski, indicated on his travel papers that he and his family would be staying with his stepbrother Walter Wisniewski at 325 Kociusko Street in Toledo, Ohio upon immigration from Posan Poland in 1906. When I looked at the ownership of that home, it was not owned by a Walter "Wisniewski", but a Walter "Kwader" who was born in the same place as my great grandfather. When I examined the origin of the name "Kwader" it seems very limited to Ohio and surrounding areas. Is it possible that Kwader was a name Walter took upon immigration? Any guidance would be appreciated.
