Hi everyone. I was excited to find this site as well. I am from the Kenyon Kvittems. My father was Ervin Kvittem, son of John Adolph Kvittem. I spoke with Oscar Quittem recently about the reason our names are spelled differently. He informed me that it was changed to Qu because a teacher had decided it needed to be spelled with a Qu. That was the correct pronunciation. Apparently teachers had a little more influence back then.
