I visited your father, Rod Kvistad, when I was researching my family. My grandfather, Lorentz W. Pederson was born on Kvistad farm, 1847. His sister, Serianna Pedersdtr. Kvistad would be your grandfather, Anton Kvistad's mother. I have a couple of photos of my mother visiting your grandfather in Astoria, OR in the 1930s. It gets a little confusing as there are two different Kvistad farms - the one in Inderoy, Nord Trondelag where our people are from, and another from the Hjorundfjord Parish in More og Romsdal. I was looking for one of the latter when I spotted your message. Larry Thompson

Andrew- Your 3 Dec 2000 posting mentioned your grandparents Carl and Madeline Kvistad. Your grandmother Madeline Rasmussen Kvistad and my grandfather Selmer "Sam" A. Rasmussen were first cousins. I have tried contacting you directly, since this is not directly pertinent to the Kvistad message board, but your e-mail address must have changed. If you see this post, please write me directly at janstemple@verizon.net
Thank you. --Jan (Hokenstad) Stemple

Me: Just a student at Raliegh Hills School, who was sent to the Principals office when I was in the 2nd grade (1966). My classmate Kim Heinie lied, and said that I said a bad word. My teacher Miss Meeker, sent me to your dad, Rod Kvistads office. I was scared. Your dad was a good man, but as I saw it as a 7 year old, strict. He told me that things would be different if I came to his office again. I made sure that didn't happen, and avoided Kim Heinie like the plague. I remember every one of my teachers at Raleigh Hills School.....and especially my Principal Rod KVistad. I would give him a big giant guy hug, if he was still around.
