My mother-in-law, Etta was a Kvello, she was born
1915 at Leinen(I think that is how it is spelled) in
Saskatchewan, Canada. Her mother's name was Johanna,
I believe, she originally came from the states.
Is there anyone out there related, I know there is
a cousin living in Minot, but would like find out
more. Etta married a Wesley Schopff, who's father
Fredrick Schopff came from the states also.

Hello!
Sorry ,I do not know Etta Kvello, and I do not think I am related. The only Kvello from my family who emigrated was my father's grandaunt Kari. She married Olai Wigen and there children are the Wigen family in U.S.A. The name Kvello is Norwegian, from Selbu, very close to the town Trondheim. There were originally to Kvello farms and I know there were people from the other farm who emigrated, but this family and names I do not know. Until about 1850 the name was spelled Qvello.

Hello,

I'm wondering if anybody knows if there is a relationship between Kville and Kvello? Here is the lowdown on the current Kvilles that I am aware of:

My grandfather George who lived in Portland, ND, 1907 - 1968.
My father, Allan, born 1941 living in Portland, ND.
My father's cousin Gerald currently in Bismarck, ND.
My father's uncle Alvin who lived in rural Clifford, ND is deceased.
My father's aunt Ann who lives somewhere in California.

I had a classmate in at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN whose name was Nathan Quello. His father suggested that both of our ancestors might have been from a village in Norway called Qvello or Kvello.

I'm just starting my search so the littlest piece of info will be greatly appreciated.

Your message came up on my screen this morning and whether it is directed
to me personally or not it doesn't matter, anyway, my husband's mother's maiden
name was Kvello and her parents were from "Trodheime", or of similiar spelling, there
are relatives in Minot,North Dakota and elsewhere. If I find out if you are
in any way, shape or form related somehow I will get back to you. Its very interesting
finding out who you are connected to isn't it?

Shane, I just did a google search for "Kvello" and came up with your request. My Father is Alan Kvello, who was born in Lisbon, ND in 1925 to Alfred and Ellen (Rutherford). He currently lives in Houston and knows a lot about the Kvello background and has traveled to Norway to visit know relatives there.

Surnames: Hanson, Kvello
I just found out the spelling of a GG Aunt's married name is Kvello. Her name was Hilda Hanson b. about 1886/88, she married James Kvello b. 1888 and lived in Minneapolis, MN (at least in the 1930's). They may have had a son named Stanley, born around 1917. Does any of this fit into your Kvello family?
