My grandfather, Iver Nilsen Kveen, was born in Skjak, Norway in August 17, 1866 and died in the 1930's in Amboy, MN. Several of Iver's cousins, nieces and nephews also came over to the US and I am trying to track them down. Any information would be appreciated.

My great aunt, Kristina Albertina Sten, came to America from Sweden to work for Eric Quain in 1909. She was born around Sorsjon, Sweden. She worked for him for several years then moved to Minneapolis. She had done a brief family history and noted that Eric Quain was somehow related to her family. I have never been able to figure out relationship and Swedish relatives say they have never heard of him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Greetings from Minneapolis
Eric Quain is the first cousin once removed of the wife of Nil Sten, Karin Eriksson. Nils was born in Sörsjön May 15 1919. We do not have the info of Nil's line as he marries into ours. Perhaps this Nils Sten is one of your relatives.
Eric Quain has a number of books of short stories and he writes quite a few about Sörsjön. Some libraries carry them but not many.

I have been researching my wife's family tree recently. Her great-grandfather Anders Nelson evidently didn't like the way that Kveen (his Norwegian surname) was translated into English. Sometime upon his arrival into the U.S. around 1881, he changed his name to Nelson. Maybe Anders could be related to you. Thanks.
