My Grandpa had 2 brothers, Gilbert Kveen of Drywood, WI? and Arthur Kveen of Chippewa Falls, Wi. He also had 3 sisters, first names unknown, married names were Redard, Camfield, and Sorenson. Any information on these families would be helpful

Hello Gayle. I am a "Kveen." My grandfather is Franklin Kveen from Chippawa Falls in WI. He is the son of Pearl Hardy and a Tom Kveen. I have a complete family tree of the Hardy side, but not of the Kveen side. I know that my grandfather side came from Norway and then settled in Chippawa Falls. Please E-mail me if you are intersted on exchanging information. I will ask my grandfather to look at his records. Thank you, Lizabeth.

The Kveen families you are tracking seem to come from the municipality of Skjåk, Oppland county, Norway. Fortunately, the name "Kveen" was not americanized. However, the given names were changed. E.g. Gudbrand was converted to Gilbert etc. There were Kveen farms two places in Skjåk. See http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbas...

Thank you for your response to my message, I have printed out the pages you sent me to put into my book. I now have documentation back to the 1800's on my family but can't find my Great Uncles and Aunts.

Hi Gayle,

I'm one of the Redards that came out of Chippewa Falls...well, that is to say my great grandfather and great grandmother did. His name was Wirt Redard, and she was Julia Hagan. As far as I know they were both from Chippewa Falls, and I'd heard rumors that maybe his parents were from Norway? Hope this helps. email me if you need any further information.
