I have been researching my Kvasnicka family tree for almost 2 years now and would be interested in finding more family. My parents are Michael & Blanca Kasnick, my grandparents were Robert and Doris Kasnick, my great grandparents were Anton & Eleanor Kasnick and my gg grandparents were Joseph and Anna (Chrt) Kvasnicka. My gg grandparents had 7 children. Joseph Frank, Frank Joseph, Charles, Otto, Anton, Emilie and Anna Kvasnicka. Some of the family kept the Kvasnicka name, but others changed it to Kasnicka and Kasnick. Most of the family stayed in the Cook & DuPage county, Illinois. Does this family sound familiar to anyone?

I am not sure if you can help, but I am the great grandaughter of Vaclav and Mary Kaucky Kvasnicka of Bohemia, which was a small Czech settlement on the Mertzon road. Thier families did not approve of them getting married and they were forced to elope and come to America. They did not speak much of thier family. All of thier children have since passed leaving a very short family history. It would mean a lot to my mother to find out about her father's family history. Any information that anyone may know would be helpful. Thank you very much.

Greetings!
My grandfather, Anton and his wife, Mary came from Bohemia to Chicago in the early part of the 20th Century. Anton died when my dad, Charles was five years old, complications of a surgery, performed in the home, I hear. I also heard of a family trait consisting of a stubborn streak that I cannot deny, that caused a rift an the Chicago Kvasnickas who were directly related to us and as a result, our family has lost contact with everyone since that generation.
Our family plot is at Bohemian National Cemetary in Chicago.

I don't know if my Kvasnicka's are related. You can view the info I have on them at www.geocities.com/nchalou/JosephKvasnickaGuthrieTree.html.

The information I have says that Joseph and Anna Kvasnicka and a sister immigrated to the US in the 1860s on a sailing ship. They arrived in Baltimore, MD and from there made there way to Eastern Iowa. The death record for Anna shows her parents names as John Krasnicka and Katherine Waneck.

I've just followed a few of your other threads on Kvasnicka/Kasnicka/Kasnick: have you never seen or gotten a copy of the family tree that Kurt & I worked on in the late 70s/early 80s? Edward did a wonderful job of reducing it down. Send me your snail addy again & I'll send one on.

My Paternal G-father was Anton Kvasnicka. He lived in Chicago, most of his adult life, since the 1910's or '20's. He had two sons, Charles and Anthony. He is buried with his wife in Bohemian National, in Chicago. My understanding is the family didn't take great pains to keep in touch with each other

I would love to learn more about your family. I know your Anton is not my Anton. My Anton was married to Eleanor Meek and they are buried at Mount Emblem Cemetery. I know that we have Kvasnicka's buried at the Bohemian National Cemetery. I have been able to find more information on my family. Perhaps we can compare. My gg grandfather was Josef Kvasnicka. He came to the United States in 1878. Perhaps he had a brother or brothers that also came and we can tie in that way.

There are a group of Kvasnicka's who live in south suburbs of chicago. My father is David Kvasnicka who is son of Rudolph Kvasnicka who is son of Philip and Mary Kvasnicka. Beyond that, I am not sure where it goes. Philip, Mary, their sons Rudolph, Paul, and Frank are burried at Calvary cemetary in Steger, IL. Stan Kvasnicka died a few years back (not sure where he is burried), but their only dtr Lilly , last i knew, lived in FLA. If any of this is helpful , please let me know, I would love to learn more and see if we are all connected

My uncle, Donald Aubrey Kvasnicka, had family history in Narka, Republic, Kansas. He gave me several generations of his family before he died. He has a living sister in the Denver area today. I will be glad to share these pedigree charts with you or any of the Kvasnicka family if you so desire.

Thank you.

Hi, my name is Monica Kvasnicka (42yrs). I came across your post and wanted to let you know that my father's name was Joseph Kvasnicka (1929) only son of Anna and Joseph Kvasnicka. My father immigrated to Chicago in 1948. I still have a brother Joseph Kvasnicka in the chicago area. Perhaps there's a connection, or not. Just thought I would check it out.

Thanks,

Monica
