Josef and Anna Kvasnicka had the following children:
Joseph Frank, Frank Joseph, Anton, Emily, Charles, Otto and Annie. Josef died in 1929 but I don't know where. He lived in Chicago, Illinois, but he did not die there. I have searched the state of Illinois and know for sure he didn't die in Illinois, but I really need someone's help to find where he died. I am also looking for information on Emily and Annie Kvasnicka. I would like to find out more about their children and grandchildren. Thank you for any help someone out there can give me.

My grandfather, Otto Kvasnicka, had a brother, Joe who was from the Crete Nebraska area. There were other siblings: Charley, Bill, Annie, maybe others. Joe and his wife Anna had 3 children that I know of. A set of twins (boy and girl) and a younger son. The boy twin never has had children, the girl has children. That younger son has 2 sons and 1 daughter. One of his sons has 2 children (1 boy, 1 girl).

Your great uncle Joe Kvasnicka is the same man as my great uncle Joe Kvasnicka, through marriage to my great aunt Anna Kohl. I have met their twin boy and girl and 2 of the girl's sons. Do you know what village in Czechoslovakia the family came from?

I do not know what village they came from. I need to ask my Dad and my oldest aunt about this. I am not sure even when they came to the US. I remember my grandfather talking about living near Dewitt Ne. I would be interested in any information about Joe's parents (my great-grandparents). Is there any connection to the other Kvasnicka names on this board? I have really never looked much but always curious about my family tree. Thank you very much!

Hi, I am the granddaughter of Mary Kvasnicka Vosika. I am requesting any information available on the family. Mary passed on before I was born. My mother Olga passed on when I was 16, so I have little information on the family. I do know she had a brother Ed who also homesteaded in South Dakota. She was born in Illinois in 1880 and married John Vosika in 1901 or 1902 in Wilber Nebraska. I understand from querying the Saline County websight that you may have a book that would be of great interest to me. Could you please let me know how I may purhase it. I look forward to hearing from you. Driel

The book I referred to is called "Saline County Roots" and is based on articles/pictures from The Crete News Quasquicentennial Series 1992-1993 paper. The book was published in 1997 and is available from the Crete County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 24; Crete, NE 68333-0024 Inside the cover is printed "$35 per copy and $3.50 for shipping". The surname VOSIKA comes up only on the following pages: p41 - (1920 girls high school basketball team picture with Agnes Vosika; p113 (1920 Sokol women) - Rosie Vosika; p171 - text saying Emma Snyder married Lumir Vosika and has 2 sons Kenneth and Roger Lee Vosika; p 214 has text saying Albina Drda married Joseph Vosika and has daughter Viola Vosika; and p255 briefly mentions Stanley and Tillie Kohout Vosika in regards to an article on the Kohout-Inderlied Pioneer Farm, south and west of Wilber, Nebraska.

There are no references to any Mary Kvasnicka in the book that I could find. Are there other Saline county surnames I could look up for you in this book? -- Gay Kohl

I believe that many Kvasnicka families settled in Narka, Kansas. My Kvasnicka ancestors were there. My uncle is Donald A. Kvasnicka. I have some info on the families.

I am looking at many previously sent inquiries on the KVASNICKA families and found yours from several years ago.

Hello,

Sorry to tell you but Robert Kasnick was the son of Anton Kasnick of Elmhurst, Il. Uncle Bob was probably the most loved of the family (Russell, Warren, Robert, Madeline and Kay). He was very social and giving. Wonderful guy. Last time I saw him was at my brothers wedding at which time he was fighting cancer (about mid 1970s I think). Joseph was mainly living in Rockford and was Anton's brother. The family split and stopped talking for some reason before I was born (Joseph and Anton Family that is). So I never met any relative outside of Anton and decendants.

I know very little about the Kvasnicka side except through
my great aunt Anna Kohl who was born in Krucemburk, Bohemia and came over to the US and married Joe Kvasnicka. I have seen Otto's name on a census record. In 2002 we had a family reunion and I met two siblings, "children" of Joe and Anna Kohl Kvasnicka. From Joseph Kvasnicka Sr's obituary (father of Joe Jr and Otto), he came from a village in eastern Bohemia called Truhodice in the Caslav region.
