I researched the Lommen family for a good friend. Thank you for your reply, it served as a reminder that I really should have posted an update.
I found 2 sources that had records from the church, also known as the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. Film #1412084IT from the Mormon library had the marriage records from 1852-1889 which I was able to order and view at my local library. I also contacted Midge Kjome at the Decorah Genealogy Association, and she had both the marriage and baptism records for that church. She was able to provide me with the marriage records for Christopher and his first wife, Gurid Thorgersdtr in 1855 and his second marriage to Thurid Olsdtr from Kvale on Jan 5, 1871, as well as the baptismal records for the children with both wives.
We've determined that Christopher was born Mar 20, 1826 in Vestre Slidre, Norway, the son of Anders Tostensen, born 1781 and Berit Olsdtr, born 1782, both born in Norway.
Christopher came in 1851 from Bergan to America on the ship Emanuel. He first married Gurid Thorgersdtr in 1855 at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. He became a naturalized citizen in 1859. He was listed as widowed in the 1870 census, and married Thurid Olsdtr from Kvale on Jan 5, 1871. The summer of 1879 he moved to Dakota Territory where he died Feb 6, 1886. His wife Thurid completed his homestead process, and she died May 13, 1922. I have information on his children from both wives if anyone is interested.
