George Kusma, Lower Burrell

George Kusma, 77, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday (June 29, 2004) in Belair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lower Burrell.

Born Oct. 17, 1926, in Brackenridge, he lived in the Valley all his life.

An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a private first class with the 24th Air Depot Supply Group in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Kusma was a glassworker at PPG Industries in East Deer for 36 years before retiring in 1979.

He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell.

Mr. Kusma enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Rudawsky Kusma.

Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Frances Kusma of Natrona Heights; two nieces, Virginia Kusma of Tarentum and Janice Kusma Petras of Cabot; a nephew, Lawrence Koteski of Plum; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Sophie Zoltan Kusma; a brother, Michael Kusma; and a sister, Mary Koteski.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the RUSIEWICZ OF Lower Burrell FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in Mount Airy Mausoleum, Natrona Heights. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in care of St. Margaret Mary Memorial Fund, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
