zI have a mystery going here.

I am trying to find information on my great grandmother Agnes Kuta Riley that was born Dec 1859 in Poland. I show records that her father could be Joseph Kuta or Joseph Kula and some records show her as Agatha Kula. There are also records of her father possibly being Anton Kuta. Her mother could possibly be Anna Zaucha if Anton is her father. If her father is Joseph Kuta/Kula her mother's name is Queen last name unknown. It could be Regina. I just located possibly her mother's death notification and she is listed as Q Skipus, however she died at my great grandmother's residence. I can not find any information about the Skipus name.

All of the above are supposedly from the Columbus/Platte Center, Nebraska area but I can find very few records past Agnes/Agatha. Supposedly she has a brother John M who married Katherine Sturek and Katherine Podraza in Columbus, Nebraska , but I am not sure if that isn't a step brother or possibly a cousin.

Any information would be appreciated. We have a lot of Kuta's living in our Columbus vicinity, but we can not find a link.

I'd be willing to bet that Skipus is actually Kaipust (many in Platte County)

Thanks! I never suspectedthat. I guess if you say the name enought times, it could sound like Skipus, It makes sense now as Regina's name shows up on a baptismal certificate with a Jan Kaipust. I will go that avenue. What stumped me as ths was a notice in the paper and the Skipus name came up absolutely no where else.

Thanks again.
