Searching for information about the Kuta family of Tarnow, Poland. Regina Kuta married Peter Woznaik, and their daughter, Sophie (Zofia) came to America about the turn of the century and married Albert Nosek of Chicago, IL. Any information would greatly be appreciated.

My great-grandfather came from Poland B4 1900 worked in a coal mine in PA to earn money to get the rest of the family from poland. My grandfather was the last baby boy to come from Poland his name is Frank Kuta born in 1905, he came to the US between the age of 5-8yrs of age. My great-grandmother met another man in Poland and became pregent by him so she did not come to the USA. We know that my great-grandmother had a baby girl b/c my grandpa use to write letters to his half sister. My great grandfather died in a coal mine that collasped. grandpa Frank Kuta went to go live with his fathers twin brother John Kuta in NE. If you have any info or believe that we may be related down the road some how it would be great to hear from you or if you know how to get a hold of someone in Tarnow, Poland that could help us both out that would be great.
Thanks for readying my note

Natalie -
I just read your message re. Kuta family. My grandfather Wojciech (George) Kuta was born 6 Jan 1893 to Adama Kuta Sophia Zaucha. I know my father told me the Kutas came from Tarnov. I'm not sure if we connect, but it is very interesting isn't it!!?

My grandmother is Mary Kuta. She was born in Europe between 1880-1885. I have been given both dates by family members. Her father was Thomas Kuta, and her mother was Regina Pytel. The town on Tarnow appears on an envelope that one of my cousins has. I am expecting more information as my aunts and uncles give up their secrets ever so slowly. These are the children of Mary Kuta. My grandparents Joseph Zugaj and Mary Kuta were married in 1905 in Chicago. Please let me know of any infrmation you have that I might need. Good luck to all who are looking to put our families back together.

KUTA / KUCZYNSKI

I'm afraid my information is limited, but here's a possible lead on the KUTA family in Ohio:

My late Grandfather, ANTON KUCZYNSKI came to the Cleveland Ohio area from Russian-Poland sometime around 1910-1915 (as a teenager - he was born in 1896). Family Oral History reports that the town name was "Golkova" with the L having a crossbar (Polish L). Oral history also reports that the town was near a river border between Russia and the "Congress of Poland", a section of Poland that was finally fully assimilated by Russia in the mid-1800s.

When he arrived in Cleveland, he stayed with his Uncle KUTA, who we believe was his mother's brother. The home was located in the general vicinity of St. Stanislaus Church. Anton's WWI military records give Anton's home address as 6205 Lansing St., Cleveland, O., but he may have been out on his own by then.

The 1910 Ohio Miricode Census Index gives information for a FRANK J. KUTA (wife SOPHIE) in Cleveland, but I haven't confirmed that he's my great-great-uncle.

I've requested a copy of Anton's WWI military records, and I'm in the process of tracking down his naturalization papers. If you're interested, I'd be glad to share my future findings about the KUTA family.

Trying to find out more about the Kuta name. My Grandfather's name was Frank Kuta. Oral family history says he left Poland in 1911 to advoid being forced to serve in the Russia army. Frank came in thru New York and then headed to Chicago. Ended up working in the lumber camps of N.W Wisconsin. Seems to be a lot of Frank's and John's running around must be family names. Anyone who can tell me anything about Kuta history is encouraged to contact me or leave a reply.

I didn't know the names of Busia's parents!!! How did you find out? Any luck internationally? What do you think about this framed family tree idea they offer? Also, I had negatives made of the original drawings Uncle Steve drew. Let me know if you are interested. Hope all is well. Heard you've had some stormy times lately.
