my father birth was recorded in the greek Catholic church in punxy, pa. also his marriage.
I am told that the reason his parents attended this church is because that was the only catholic church in their area at that time.

At this time, we will leave religion out. It is possible that your ancestors were Greek Catholic. It is also possible being that was the only church in the area that is where they went.

The name of a village is a decisive factor.
You might invest the $3.50 and order the church records for the village of Cabiny.
Do an internet search for your ancestral names to see if anyone else is researching.
