I am searching for any family members of Vincent and Margaret Kuna. They were originally from Hastings, Pa and moved to Chicago around 1929-1930. I believe there is a connection with my family, through my grandfather, Joseph Waksmundzki. His grandmother's name was Katherine Kuna. Vincent Kuna's daughter, Rose has been at some of my family functions over the years. John, Vincent's son atttended my grandmother's wake in November of 1961. I would love to hear from anyone to see if we can make a connection

I'm not sure if Vincent Kuna is from Slovakia. I am trying to connect Vincent to my family. Kuna is the maiden name of my great-great grandfather's mother. He is from southern Poland, the town of Waksmund. It is possible the he could be since Slovakia, is not the far away.

OMG!!! Vincent and Margaret Kuna are my great grandparents. Your whole story makes sense!!
I would love to talk with you some more about this somehow! I had NO IDEA they were born in Hastings, PA...I thought Vincent was born in Poland from my research but i dont know. I am doing a family tree for a school project.
Vincent and Margaret had a daughter named the same Margaret Kuna. and she married Joe Mader had 3 children. They lived in Chicago and Margaret and Joe resided in Arlington Heights, IL.
I realy hope this is all correct but i want to be sure.
Please get back to me somehow. I would LOVE to talk more about this!

I wanted to answer you quickly. I was so excited to see your reply. Vincent wasn't born in Hastings but that is where he lived after coming from Poland. He did get married in Hastings. I think I have his wedding application. I would need some time to find it though. The name Mader sounds familiar. I have the Tribune obituiries for the family. I will go through them again. I also have a picture of the family taken around the 1930's. Please e-mail me at mwaxy@att.net
