Hello all,
I am looking for anyone in the U.S. or Poland who might have Kuna ancestors from a small village called Huta Przedborska, near Kolbuszowa, Poland.
Antonius Kuna was the son in law of my 3rd great grandfather, Casimir Staron. Antonius Kuna married Salomea Staron on February 12, 1821 in Huta Przedborska, a small village near Kolbuszowa.
They had 8 daughters, Catherine, Marianna, Anna, Agnes, Franscisca, Angela, Ludovica and Petronella.
I have a few birthdates for the daughters but no marriages. Still researching this family.
If any of this sounds familiar with your own research, let me know. It might be fun to swap information.
Regards,
Valerie Koselka

Hi Steve,
My grandfather was also born in Hucisko in 1889. The parish church is Sw. Mikolaja in Niwiska which is just down the road from Hucisko.
I ordered microfilm #0996700 from the Family History Center and have gleaned lots of information from it about the families who lived there. The years are about 1796-1855 for birth, marriage and death.
If you do not have the baptismal record of Wojciech, you might try writing to the parish priest in Niwiska. It must be done in Polish and with very specific names and dates as his books are not indexed, plus he does not have all years available at the rectory. Depends on what you need.
The other option would be to write to the civil offices in Niwiska for the same information.
I will write to you privately, if that is okay with links and pictures of the area.
I don't have any Cwaneks directly related to me, but have a few names in my files anyway.
Regards,
Valerie

My wife's grandmother Rozalia Orzech was born in Huta Ptrzedborska in 1902. She just died in 2001. My son and I visited the village in 2000. It's still tiny. Grandma Rozalia and her husband sent money back to the village in the 1960s to build a church in the village. Don't know much more than that.

If you want to research in that area, there are microfilmed records that you can look at by ordering them through the Family History Center, if you have one in your area.
Do you know the name of Rozalia's parents?

Hi Valerie,
I saw that you are researching the Niwiska area and the Swider surname. I have a great grandfather Michael Wiacek, and his parents Joseph and Catharzyna (Swider) Wiacek who attended the RC church in Niwiska. Catharzyna is the daughter of Frank & Reginy (Wiktor) Swider. Joseph is the son of Andrzeja & Agaty (Tetlak) Wiacek. Michael settled in Dupont, PA and married Julia Wozniak in 1906. Are you researching any of these people?

Hi, my great grandparents lived in the area just south of Kolbuszowa, in Czarna Sedziszowska and nearby villages of Ruda, Kamionka, and Cierpisz. They were named Wojciech Dluzen and Zofia Zadlo. Thanks to the LDS records and my visit to the parish church in Czarna Sedziszowska, I have traced these two lines and collateral lines in the area including Swider, Gdula, Bajor, Zygmunt, Draus, Ofiara, Niezgoda, Brzezowski and others back to my 4th great grandparents. I would be happy to exchange information on the Dluzen and Zadlo families. I had corresponded with Mr. Postula a long time ago (probably about 25 years ago) trying to connect our Dluzen lines but we could not, though I am certain they are related and with the information we have today, we could probably connect the family lines. Dluzen is a very rare name, so all people with this name are likely related especially if they came from this same area in Poland. I have done the genetic testing on the Dluzen male line and it matches ancient Celtic DNA from central Europe--the Celts who did not move westward with the arrival of germanic, slavic and hungarian people. I look forward to communicating with you.
