I have some of Jerry's things, my father is John Michael, Jerry's brother.As far as I know I am his only daughter of john's, but have heard rumors of more. My birth name is lisa michelle kulow. I am about to donate the items cause no one has come forward to collect them. I can explain more if we ever talk.

I believe we are family. I've been searching for answers. My father is Johnny Kulow, his parents Pauline and Ronald kulow. Jerry was my dad's brother. I was taken away at a young age cause my parents couldn't get it together, grandma tried to keep me but, well we know how tjat goes. I have no family except, the one I married into. I feel a little lost not knowing.

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Jean S. Hagen, 89, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.

Mrs. Hagen was born May 6, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of William and Bertha Schreiber Kulow.

She was a 1941 graduate of The Rayen School, Youngstown, Ohio.
Mrs. Hagen worked as a cafeteria manager for Boardman Schools.

Jean was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and formerly the Martin Lutheran Church.
She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Columbiana Chapter No. 428, School Employees Retiree’s Chapter No. 19, and the Saxon Club.
She enjoyed traveling, card clubs, and family.

She is survived by her husband, Howard, whom she married Sept. 17, 1949; a son, William (Ginger) Hagen of Bernardsville, N.J.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Begeo; four sisters, Pauline Kermit, Helen Wright, Eleanor Gillette, and Lucille Johnson; and three brothers, Harold, Alfred, and Bill Kulow.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home (new location), 8536 Market St., Boardman, Ohio.

Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service.

The family requests all gifts take the form of contributions to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.

Please respond, my father is Jerry Dean Kulow, son of Ronald Kulow. I believe Martin and Ronald were brothers. Ronald and Pauline had three sons and one daughter; Jerry Dean, John Michael, Frederick, and Melissa. Frederick was the youngest of the three brothers which died because he was hit by a train just before he was to marry. Melissa was born right around the time Uncle Fred died. Would like more information going back as far as we can. Jerry had three children, Jeffrey Paul, Me, and Richard Dean.

Gravesite

I come from western Kansas and on the farm of my great grandmother is a single gravesite. It has been there as long as I can remember and the story is that the individual was buried where he died...and the gravesite was maintained by the property owners....the information on the tombstone is as follows: John Kulow...died 7,31,1879...Aged 74yrs 6M.....at the time of death I am sure it was prairie...cause of death unknown....however just a few miles to the west of this site was an indian encampment....I have no other information on this....maybe someone has the rest of the story...which I would like to hear....thanks for reading

I found this clipping in a scrapbook. I am not a relation.

"Charles Henry Kulow, son of Fred and Christian Kulow, was born June 27, 1869, near Albany, New York, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 15, 1938.

He received his schooling in the rural schools of New York, moving to Iowa with his parents at the age of 13. He was married to Matilda Marie Fritzloff on September 12, 1894; they made their home in Dubuque, Iowa, until 1901, when they moved near Fairbanks, Iowa, coming to their present home north of Riceville, Iowa in 1913. His wife preceded him in death August 31, 1934.

He united with the Congregational Church of Riceville on the 30th day of January, 1921.

Those left to mourn his death are three children: Arthur, Elsie (Mrs. Charles Graff), and Raymond, all of Riceville; 5 grandchildren, Roberta and Russell Graff, Edward, Merlyn and Irvin Kulow; one brother, Fred Kulow of Oran, Iowa; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Edith Rundle of Oran, Iowa, and Mrs. Chris Graff of Dubuque, Iowa. One brother, George, died many years ago."

I saw your old msg posted, hope you're still out there. Fredrick G. Kulow is my GGGrandfather but I'm related to his second wife, Elizabeth Adaline Hunt. Doretta 'Lida' Eliza Kulow is my GGrandmother. I've began working on this family and am using the FTM. I would like to share any info . I do have a bible that belonged to Lida or Elizabeth with Margaret Serepta Kulow's name in it but have no pictures of any members except Doretta (poor) and my grandmother.

While working on my Kulow family tree, I saw your old msg and thought I'd give it a shot. I have a Lora M. Kulow, born 28 Feb 1879 in Iowa, married to a Harry Paul Ruggles. No other info on her decendents. Her parent were Fredrick G. Kulow from Germany and Elizabeth Adaline Hunt from Indiana. He had a first wife of Matilda Webster from Ohio. There are many decendents all over but the majority are in Iowa.

I just discovered that our grandfather's sister, Hannah Caroline Coe married John Kulow, son of Christian and Hanna Kulow. I also have some information on Christian and Hanna.

My father was Fredrick Butler and I only know that my granmother's name was Grace and that my Grandfather died young leaving 5 children. My grandmother remarried and moved to Pennslyvannia (Shoemaker). My father had 2 brothers: Theo (Battle Creek) and Donald (Climax) and 2 Sisters: Beatrice Mabus (Shoemaker PN) and Betty (?)
My father moved to Shoemaker and was living with my Aunt Bee in 1972. I am not sure if we are related. I do know that my father was remarried at one time at least. I do have a brother that I have never known, just heard about. Maybe we can help each other.

My father was Fredrick Butler. He had 2 sisters 1. Beatrice Mabus and 2. Betty and 2 brothers 1. Theo and 2. Donald (still living) I know that my grandmother' s first name was Grace and that she was remarried when my father was 3 years old and moved to Pennslyvania (Shoemaker area) They lived in Battle Creek Michigan area at one time My Uncle Don went to live with a relative and graduated from Climax-Scotts in 1952 (Michigan) My father moved to Shoemaker in 1970's with his sister Beatrice. after that I do not know anything else. I do believe that Beatrice had no children. I do not know where Betty is or what her last name is . Donald is still alive and I have met him. Theo was never married and lived in Battle Creek Michigan.
So if there is anyone who can help me put together info I thank you

I haven't been able to verify William Kulow's immigration info yet. I don't have any sibling names. I have pictures of my William Kulow.
With such an unusual surname you would think it would make it easier to connect the dots.

looking for info about Christian Kulow of Buffalo NY. born in 1800's and his family.Christian was born in Germany, his wife's maiden name was Kuehn.He was a cabinet maker, went to Humberstone (Gas Line) Ont. for several years where some of his children were born, but returned to Buffalo.Son Frederick Christian went to Port Colborne Ontario. Son John stayed in Buffalo and had a son Claudius, a Lutheran Minister in NY city.

Seeking information on John Christian Kulow, born 1855 in Ohio. Married Hannah Caroline Coe about 1871 in Cooper County, Missouri. Hannah C. Coe was born 1852 in Germany.
Unknown who John's parents were, Hannah was the daughter of Charles Coe and Hannah Duetta (maiden name unknown).
John and Hannah had 1 child: Hannah Sophie Kulow, married Harry Clifford Barlow in 1889 in Cooper Co., Missouri. They had 9 children: Sally, Deana, Robert, Harry, Alexander, Mary, Anna, Alma and Leonard.

My gggrandfather was Wilhelm "William" C. Kulow. I have no info about him prior to 1885 except for the 1900 MO census indicating that he immigrated in 1868. He was born in Germany in 1855.
He married Laura May Wilson in 1886 and his only child Alma Anna was born in Missouri in 1887. He died Feb. 1914 in Kansas City, Kansas.
I have only his death certificate to name his father as William Kulow and mother as Unknown.
I hope someone has a clue to help find the beginning of his story.

I have secondary info on Cleveland Kulow's.
Are you familiar with Frank and Emma Kulow who had George and Robert? Frank died in 1934, Emma married Henry Gutzman. Their son George recently passed away in 2000, he was 80 yrs old. I know Robert had a Robert (Bobby).

These all descend from Fred and Catherine Kulow > Germany to Cleveland.
