Dear John,
Please find out what you can, its too bad your father passed away, my dad also passed away when I was 10 years old, he died March 10, 1959 of coronary thrombosis, he was only
34 years old.He was a wonderful man and I have always missed him in my life. My grandfather Frank is also dead of a heart attack. He was a sweetheart and I also miss him. I guess that is why I got interested in
their history, because they were so kind and
such good hearted people, I wanted to know more about their family.
I am not sure about the exact relation to Irma and Rodney, but from family lore, I heard that the Kujat family left Poland and went to Germany, USA and Canada, that there were three original clans of Kujat's in Poland and that the Kujat's that are living today are the decendants of these three clans.
I think that Irma and Rodney are related to me through my great grandfather's siblings,
it was said that there were 10 children in his family and that they came to the US and Canada, at different times and settled in different areas, in the US, but the areas that I know about were: Michigan, Wisconsin,
Pa. Washington and New York, who went where I don't know, but it is my understanding that the Kujat's in these area's are all directly related as they were the brothers and sisters from my great grandfather, so directly or indirectly all of us Kujat's in the US are related. I know when my grand father was living he made trips to these areas of the country and also went to Wyoming to see relatives.I have not been able to find the siblings or their names. On the great grandfather's papers, there is no mention of who his parents are, so for now I am at a dead end, this is all I know for now.
If you can shed any light on this I would be happy to know, but its nice to find another
person interested in the pursuit of the family history. Please stay in touch. I have a brother named John Kujat. It was also my great grandfather's name. Lynn
