is Dieunke Kuiken and she came to the US from Holland
when she was young.He said her parents names were James and
Vera. they lived around Minneapolis and her father was a
sod farmer. In Holland he had a bakery.

If you want more information about the Kuiken famely, you can look at the website from tesoar.nl The most Kuiken ar comming from Het Bildt. That is a county in The Netherlands in the provence Friesland.
I found a Marten Kuiken. He is born 29 april 1861
Here is his birth act.

George VanderMay and Julia Fylstra had a daughter born in NJ who was married to Nicholas Kuiken at the time of her father’s death on 23 Mar 1928.

In Paterson, Passaic, NJ, on 27 Aug 1927, Mr. and Mrs. Arian Kuiken, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Arian’s father was Derk, who emigrated to Paterson circa 1882 from Friesland County, Holland.

Any further information on the Kuiken family or information on the unidentified VanderMay daughter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for the parents of Martin Kuiken. Martin's father was born in Holland. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Martin was born abt 1861 in Holland.

Martin married Katherina Hoogerhaus. Both are buried in Lyons, Oregon
On the 1920 Census for Fox Valley, Linn, Oregon, their children were:

Is there more information about Jan Kuiken(1842) en Gelske de Vries(1839). Children are Tjerk (1867), Maartje(1869), Jisseltje(1871), Oetske(1879)
This family left Holland on 19-4-1881 to USA-UNIDENTIFIED REGION.

Thanks Terry. I am sorry to hear about Lori's mother. I am still looking for any info on the family. Did Lori have hard copies of the book made, and if so, do you know if there are any lfor sale? I have a photo of Mattie & Meyer Beaderstadt (do you have more?) and found their graves and her father's grave a couple months ago when I was in Iowa. But I have no other family information beyond the names of Mattie's parents and siblings. I didn't see a grave for her mother. Do you know where she was buried? I think she was in Missouri when Mattie died.

Hi again. The cemetery is in Lynnville (Jasper County). Everyone knew Orville as "Fuzz". My grandpa was Bryan. I have some info on the son's and their families. And I don't have a scanner, but if you and Lori want the photo of Myer and Mattie, or one of Myer and his sons, I can get copies made to mail or put on a disk to email. I also have photos of the sons at both young and old ages, and obits for some of them. I would love to get a copy of Lori's book, if she has an extra one or has time to do it and will gladly pay any copying and postal charges. If my email address still shows up when you click on my name, feel free to email me directly.

I saw your posting regarding your family tree. Was your mother's maiden name Meighen & did you have a brother Bobby & sister Sylvia both now deceased. If so, our trees cross. I recently started working on my uncle's side of the tree & he gave me a partial tree with a Janice Kuiken dtr of Marge Meighen & Bob Kuiken. Is this you? I would like to include you & your family in the tree if you are the Janice Kuiken I am looking for. My uncle has a mailstation so he can get & send text messages only.

I'd be happy to try to help you find out about your ancestors on your dad's side too.

I am the great-granddaughter of Arthur and Sadie Kuiken. I am needing information about Arthur and Sadie...I have their death certificates but there seems to be confusion if Arthur and Sadie were here in the US when Pearl Kuiken (my grandmother) was born or they immigrated here from Holland...

I have here a picture of Mattie, but not of her and her husband, you may have something we don't here. Her mother - Alice Jasper - died on November 10, 1886 in Carthage MO. Apparently Mattie was quite young when her mother died. according to what i have here. I have also that John Myer Beaderstadt died in 1929 buried in Friends Cemetary - but gives no town? It list Mattie and Johns children with dates for most of them, not alot of info on their children's children, except for Orville's. it appears we have two Mattie Juikens in the family, the second of which is the one you are talking about, the other having married a Henry Hoss, both of them being blind, and having died in an accident in 1947.
I have the book here, I would gladly make a copy for you, but i have a bad back and i am unable to get out and do alot. i do not think she would charge for it, the book is the size of a photo album. In the book there is dates and all for Mattie's brothers - children etc...
My great grandma (Lillian Myrtle Thompson) married Albert Kuiken who was the son of Elizabeth Vanderveen and Tiemen Kuiken.
I hope i am at least a little bit of help? i will try and answer anything else i can from the book for you.

Yes, i was talking to you. She sent me a copy of a huge Kuiken book that she made, it is awesome. Pictures - stories and all. My grandmother is Ruth Marie Kuiken Dieterich
Lori may not have responded because her mother is having major health problems. If you want to post your email on here, may even be there? - i will forward it to her.

I am looking for information on Mattie Kuiken, born in the Netherlands in 1869, and died in Poweshiek County, Iowa in 1900. She was married to Myer Beaderstadt. Her obituary states she had two brothers, Jacob and Gleman, and her mother was living in Benton County, MO at the time of Mattie's death. Does anyone know who her parents were?

Sorry to take so long to respond. I am trying to figure out a family tree. My mother passed before I was old enough to ask anything about my family history. We never talked much about my father, in fact, she never even told me of my father. I fould out acidentally in school when I was approached my family services and told my last name was not the one I was using in school but was Kuiken. I did manage to meet my father ( I found his name in a Akron, Ohio phonebook and called to she if it was him) when I was 21. That was the only meeting I had with him. I didnt at the time ask about any possible aunts or uncles or living grandparents at that time. Now with children of my own I am courious about tracing my history. I would like to see pictures, know names, and know my fathers side of the family and possibly be able to visit relatives at reunions or Holidays. I was in contact with someone at one time but lost that contact. I think it might have been an aunt and a cousin. I might know. My brother was Robert(Bobby) Kuiken & he lived in Canton,Ohio . I had a half sister named Janice. My father was Robert(Bob) Kuiken. I believe my brothers first wife was named Penny but not positive.

I had a favorite Uncle Frank, now deceased more than 20 years. He had a daughter Rochelle (Ricky) and a son Frank, who would be about 47-48 right now. They lived some time ago in South Holland, IL. My uncle's mom's name was Mae, she died just a few years ago, had lived in Chicago Ridge Il for many years. He had a sister named Pat.

Is this the same Kuiken group you may be looking for?

It does sound to good. What you need is a few basics. What you are going to need is to go to the place of your mother and father's birth (the city that is) and get the birth certs. That should tell you what their parents names were. If you don't know where your parents were born look at your birth certificate. This should be fairly easy to do. A little side note, Kuiken is a type of chicken in Holland. It is likely that your ancestors were chicken farmers. If you find any one that lived in Paterson, let me know, that is where my "chickens" are from.

I think your Frank Kuiken and my Frank Kuiken are two different people. My Frank Kuiken's parents were Douwe and Gepkje (Porte) Kuiken. They came from Friesland, The Netherlands in 1889 and settled near Maurice, Sioux County, Iowa.

I can't find any Cornelius and Ella in my Kuikens. Where did Cornelius and Ella Kuiken live?

This is short and sweet because I dont know alot about me. I can tell you I was born in Akron to Robert and Penny Kuiken. My mother moved me away when I was a baby. I have an aunt named Janice because I am named after her. I dont know any of my grandparents of any other possible aunts of uncles. I would really like to know if anyone knows anything about me

Susan, I don't know if there is any relation. It's a mystery. I do know that my son's Kuiken ancestors came over from NW Friesland with the name Kuiken, not van Kuiken. I have their ancestors listed back to about 1800 or before. See if you can find any similarities to the Kuikens that I listed in my previous email. These people all came from Sint Annaparochie and Sint Jacobiparochie.
