Trying to find information about John Kuehny who was born in Neuhof, Ingolstadt, Germany 7/5/1837. Familysearch.org says that he came to America when he was 20 and settled in Summerfield, St.Clair Co., IL. He was married to Magdalena Schmidt born 3/23/1846 in Regensberg, Germany. They had 12 children and also lived in Halstead Kansas. Any information will be helpful.

I have an Edith Kuhne, b.1915 in New York Manhattan, with parents there in 1920 and 1930 censuses. Parents Ernest Kuhne 1880-1963, and Katherine (Kitt) Allen 1885 - ?. Ernest was born New York, died Long Island. Katherine was born Newport RI. I don't know if this could be te connection to your Edith Kuhne, but I would like to know if it is.

I have done research on Rose Kuehne (Kuchne)who had a brother Fredrick b. 1884 in Switzerland. I have him in the 1900 & 1920 NY census. Parents are Dominick b.1854 & Rose b.1860. In 1920 he is living with his sister Rose Browning and is listed as Fredrick Kushno. His occupation is fireman and he is single in 1920.

I am also searching for relations of my great-grandmother, Johanna Kuhne m. Max Schuler in the later 1800's. Their son Max Gustav Schuler was my grandfather. He was born Sep. 28, 1892. The lived in Bernburg, a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. I don't know if she is related to Fredrick.

Allen married and had children, but pasted away in 1984. Neither brother was very involved with their fathers side of the family. My grandfather's name is Julian Henry Kuhne. He came to Charleston S C late 1800 or early 1900 from Hamberg Germany.Ther are very few Kuhne's in S C. My father Rupert was a banker and died in the middle 80's. I am from Greenville S C but now live in Naples Fl and Highlands N C.

Thank you for your reply. I sent for a copy of the Social Security app for the Gladys Kuhne I am seeking. It lists her parents as Paul & Rose Schmidt Kuhne. In 1948 they were living on East Moshok? Parkway, NY and she was working at the 68th Street Theatre. She later graduated (1957) from Caledonian School of Practical Nursing. I wrote there, but receieved no response. She died of breast cancer in Reading Hospital, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1972. If you think there may be a connection to your family her daughter would be thrilled:)

Gladys Kuhne was the mother of Bobby and Dickey Kuhne and the wife of John L. Kuhne, my uncle. John was the brother of Frederick Victor Kuhne, my father. John and Frederick were the sons of August Kuhne. John was an executive with Fox Pictures and had many photos published in National Geographic Magazines.John and Glaydys and sons lived in Atlantic Beach Long Island.
August Kuhne was the New York City Police Inspector for The 12th. Division. August, my grandfather had a brother also named Frederick Kuhne (my grand uncle) who wrote the first fingerprinting manual for the Police institute..
John L. Kuhne died at his home of cancer on April 30, 1977 at age 74 in Key Biscayne, Florida.
August Kuhne was born in America on Aptil 16, 1874 . His parents were: Ernest Christian Frederick Kuhne and Rosa Kuhne, both of Germany.

My grandfather, John "Jack" Kuhne, was born in 1902. I know Fred was younger than he, but I'm not certain by how much, I'm guessing four or five years. So it is possible for him to have fathered a child around 1942. They grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Their father August, was a policeman, and later a bar owner in a part of Brooklyn called Sheep's Head Bay. There was always some mystery in the family details, and many things were left unclear, so I don't know if this is helpful, but I hope it is. Oh, also I am pretty certain that Fred died before my grandfather, which was in 1977. My Great Grandfather supposedly came from Hamburg. I know very little about his family and I'm very interested in finding the details.

He was born January 5, 1885. He was a Lieutenant in the German Marines. He attended school at the University of Paris. He swam and played the Violin. He had one brother named Karl.

He apparently traveled to the US multiple times to check on family business intrests (in oil?). His census data shows an emmigration date of 1912. He lived in Erie, PA.

He was cabled to return to take up his commission with WWI but did not return and chose not to return. (Supposedly he had tickets for the Lusitania) He was alienated from his family as a result.

In the 1910's he was married to a Florence Miller and he worked at the NuBone corset factory. He later married Edith Blasco who had already had my grandfather (William) with another husband. They did have a child, Walter.

I'm including a picture of my GG Grandfather Kuhne. I don't know his name, unfortunately.

I found some items in a Columbia MO antique store that I'm sure belong to the Kuhnes you're searching info about. Someone's estate settlement much have included the stuff. There was a badly assembled scrapbook of photos and some cancelled checks and charge records from Kuhne Bro's Mercantile in Troy MO. There's no charge to you if the materials belong to your family. I'd just like to get these treasures back to their family. The photos weren't identified, but they are studio portraits of children, taken about 1920-ish. I am looking for any relatives of Leslie Kuhne. From what I've been able to gather, Leslie Kuhne was born around 1886 in either Oklahoma or Missouri. He married a Lillian Zuber in New York and they had twins; Frederick and Eugenia on 31 December 1916.

Still looking for that Frederick Kuhne that was in New York in 1942. There has been speculation that he was divorced and remarried. Anyone out there have any information that could tie in?

My mother was born Eugenia Elizabeth Kuhne in Jamaica, Queens, New York. She lived in an orphanage and was placed in the Charles and Mary Rose family in 1947. We would love to make some connection to possible birth family.

OK, Big update to come! I emailed this site to my dad Eugene Kuhne who's brother was Frederick Kuhne of PA their father was Frederick Kuhne and grandfather August Kuhne.
Their father a NYC Police officer -fell in love with another woman (I believe in the 1940's)and there was a Kuhne divorce and he remarried this other woman. So, the family mystery solved - there's the split. Once my dad sorts this out I think you'll find we're probably all related! Pretty cool hugh! So, I believe the missing link is in the divorce which at the time was a pretty rare occurrance that one be granted.
As well my great grand uncle Frederick Kuhne authored the very first text book on fingerprinting "The Fingerprint Instructor" in 1916.

I am looking for information on Christian and Frederikke parents, but I can not find them. Can some of you help me?

Christian Heinrich Ernst Kuhne (born ca 1838) and Frederikke Herbst (born ca 1843). Both are born in Sachsen Germany. I think Frederikke father was August Herbst but I am not sure.

Seems like Frederick Kuhne is somehow in my family line somewhere. My grandfather was Rupert E. Kuhne Sr and my father is the same Jr and I am the same as the 3rd. We don't have any family lineage information past a Julian Kuhne who worked as a Merchant Marine out of Charleston, Sc at some time in the early 1930s-40s. Would like to know others.

I dont know if you are interested in my informations, but the mother of my grandmother is Minna Meta Kühne, born at 17.03.1897 in Stolzenhain, Sachsen, Germany. Stolzenhain is a small village about 20 km away from Schmerkendorf. Now I try to find out something about her parents.

Frank Kuhne (Jr.) was my "Uncle Frank". He and his wife, Gertrude who was my "Aunt Dot" lived in Prescott where I grew up. He was a plumber. That's all I will write now, so I am sure this is not a "Tech Trap." I'm always leary.

They were 38 and 33 in 1930. Her maiden name was Franks
and first husband was William Niemeyer. Does anyone have Otto in your family??

Have James (c.1810 Ga. - 1863-64), Nancy (c.1820 Ga. - 1904 Al) & kids in censuses 1840-60, & widowed Nancy & kids 1870, 1900-30 (sons & 1 unmarried daughter). Eldest child Henry not found after 1860 (both James & Henry die in the war?). Cannot find James or Nancy before 1840 nor proof of her maiden name. Both quite possibly tied back to S.C. Is anyone out there related to them?

My grandfather, Jack Kuhne had a brother Fred, both lived in New York in the Forties. I think they also had a sister, Katherine maybe, not sure. I don't have too much info I'm afraid.
