Hello, my name is Reinhard Kuehbandner, im from Germany.
Its very interesting for me, to hear that some people with this name live in USA.
Genealogie is one of my hobbies. I searched for the sources of my name and found many, many intersting things.

The source of the family is a farm in austria, called "An der Khinpoint", the Farmers were the "Khinpointners". The first entry that i found is in a tax-list from the year 1406 !

But the direct line ends in the time about 1650 .

In the years 1690-1700, two sons of this clan emigrates to bavaria , near of Fichtelberg, Brand, Oberlind. Here in the course of the years the name was changing from Khinpointner to Kuhbandner, Kuehbandner.
This name can be found very often in the area!
It would be very interesting for me, to hear more about the Kuhbander from Ohio and from other countries in USA!

Hi I'm a Kuhbander by marriage, most of the Kuhbander's on this board seem to come from Ohio, and have decended from from Micheal and Anna (Kastl) Kuhbander, Anna was said to have been born in the New York harbor, waiting for the ship to dock from Germany , they had 8 or 10 children, thats as far as I can go back, one of there son's was named John(Sr), and he is my husbands g-grandfather,

Hi Linda! If you are willing, I would love to hear more about Anna's birth and her parents immigration, siblings, etc. I know so little about the Kastls.
Michael and Anna actually had 12 children, 10 of whom survived to adulthood.
You can e-mail me at roches4@juno.com.

Would love to correspond with you. My ancestors immigrated to USA on the ship "Germania" from Hamburg, Germany, which landed in New York City 29 July 1869. They are listed in the ship's log as Kuhlbandner: Frederick- 29 years of age, Michael - 27 years of age, and their sister Margaret - 21 years of age. They ended up in Dayton, Ohio.

There are several different ways the Kuhbander name was spelled here in Dayton. Kuhlbandner, Kubautner, Kuhbandner, and Kuhbander.

Have also uncovered a Rosa Kuhbander living in Dayton, Ohio in 1880. She did not immigrate with Frederick or Michael, but she is too old in 1880 to be one of their children. Michael has 12 children, 10 which live to adulthood. Margaret has two children; Frederick's children are still elusive.

Would love to correspond with you. My e-mail address is ecwiford@bright.net Am anxious to hear from you.
