Looking to talk with Kuglers. My grandfather was from Hussenhoffen Germany. His name was Josef Kugler. Born in 1906 I believe. My grandmothers name was Clara . They only went back to germany once, I beleive it was in the late 60's. They never talked much about other relations . I only meet 2 relatives from Germany. I believe all of his siblings stayed in Germany. If you think we are related please e-mail me.

Mr. William John Kugler

I believe it is very possible that we are all related. I haven't been able to trace the family back very far. But I know they came from Germany as I had the oppertunity to talk to my great grandfather bother he was in his ninty's and was able to get some infromation from him. I know that they lived in and around Cadiz, Ohio in the 1850's or 1860's as my great great great grandfather served in the Civil War.

Thank you

Have a great Day

Hello, I am from Kirchheim unter Teck , Baden Wuerttemberg, and my grandmother was a Kugler, a wellknown family with a nice history there. One Kugler was in charge of Napoleons payments to the soldiers and we still have the box in our museum, he was one of the last ones to cross the Beresina and became "stadtrat" and, as an old men, was carried up the steps of the city hall for meetings. We have an oilpainting of him with the french cocarde on his lapel. there is also a little sculpture on horse in the museum. My greatgrandparents had lots of land, a Zementfabric and a big "Hof" in the city on the river with their own waterwheel, I think my uncle sold it,but he is still around to tell you, the Kuglers from Kirchheim, about it. I am 54 years old and I remember lots of stories about the Kuglers. Two brothers of my grandmother emigrated to USA, 2 of her uncles were ingeneers and build bridges in Russia and so on...There are at least 6 Kugler cousins of mine in their 40ies, direct descendents of the Kirchheim Kuglers.Oh...my greatgrandmother was the beautyqueen of something in Stuttgart, we all habe beautyfull photos from her in crown and perioddress, she rode on a white horse into cityhall...I live here as a german citizen since 1985, my son goes to shool at SMU in Dallas and some time ago I saw a billboard with a Dr. ?Kugler running for citycouncil in Culver City or the Marina area and since then I thought that maybe somebody wants to know about the Kuglers I knew so well.Pitty that at the moment I forgot the names and birthyears of our US emigrees.....anyhow...to all the Kuglers much love and let me know if this is new for you, forgive the spelling...hella

Hi

Iam very interested in the Kugler family in Germany as I don't have very much information from there or even when they came to this country for sure.
I do know they came before the Civil War as my greatgreat grandfather served in the Civil War with the Ohio company. I have records were he was only in for three months and was discharged and owed the state of Ohio $7.00 for his uniform which my great great grandmother burned when she got mad at him. I would like to correspond directly with you if at all possible. LKugler@mcol.net

God Bless
Lyle

This was very interesting to me as I am trying to trace my roots. I understand that the meaning of the Kugler name means maker of balls is this correct.

Lyle,
hope you still are researching KUGLER.

My first Kugler was Johannes Kugler +28.04.1756, bricklayer from Schechingen. He married 06.11.1714 in D-76684 Odenheim Anna Maria Ehrenschmalz from Hohenstadt +11.11.1723.

Found another interpretation KUGLER.

Middle high german word kugel, gugel means hood, cowl.
So, someone who wears a hood or produces them is a Kugler.
