My husband's name is Doug Kuechler. We are looking for information about the origins of our Kuechler branch. We live in Massachusetts and his grandfather was Kurt Rudolph Kuechler. We would love to hear from anyone who might have some information. Contact us at this E-mail address.

I have my grandfather's Evangelical Church baptismal registration from a parsonage in Graefenhausen Germany. It says his godfather was from Russelheim. It says he was born in Mutterwalt. These towns are fairly near the area which I have been told where his family was from.
The certificate says his mother's maiden name was Kuechler. He was born in October 1843. He was the ninth child, sixth son of Eliabeth and Michael Reitz III.
He emigrated to the U.S. and was married in 1870 and lived in Illinois.
I wonder if this is any help to you.

I am aware of Louise Kuhman. Are you aware of Eileen Kuhman in Yorkville Illinois. She was married to Fred and had 2 children. I believe the 2 are related as I have talked to Louise this last year. Please email me at

My grandfather was August Emil Kuechler. His mother was Dorthea Elisabeth Stamm. His father was Carl Jacob Kuechler. He was born in Danzig, Germany. He went to Wisconsin, after entering the U.S. in l887, at the age of 10.
I am intrested in researching the Kuechler family.

I have as yet to find any direct link between the KUECHLER family in Illinois (most are relations of my Mom -- age 92)... and the KUECHLER families in Wisconsin. Mother and I met some of the Wisconsin folks at a reunion.

I believe the Wisconsin Kuechlers may be related to my
grandfather, August Emil Kuechler. Do you know any significance about the Kuechler name?

There are many Kuechler's in Dudenhofen a town not far from Darmstadt, Germany. Two Kuechler brothers from Dudenhofen who were cousins of my grandmother emigrated 1872/1874 to St.Louis.
You should ask for the first name of your Kuechler ancestor.
A Family Book was published in Dudenhofen a few years ago.
