Hi, I am defended from Rebeka Kuech, who was married to Johannes Georg Martin Bahrt. They lived in the Stockton, Hazleton area in the 1880's. Her mother was Barbara (unknown maiden name) b. 1802 in Suess, Germany. siblings of Rebeka were Regina (married to Johannes Weber) who lived in Stockton, and brothers Conrad and George Keuch (b. 1835 and 1833) who lived in Tamaqua. Conrad was married to Barbara Elizabeth Oschmann, George was married to Anna Catharine Stutzmann. There may have been other siblings. Our Bahrt/Kuech family is from the village of Sus (Sub/Suess) Germany. I have a relative who lives near there who is distantly related to me on the Bahrt side. The Kuech side is also from there. For some reason the Kuech side in Tamaqua changed it to Keich.

Hi, There is actually two branches of the Kuech families from the same area of Suess. I am descendent from William Keuch which seems to be some relation to your Barbara but haven't look back into Germany yet to find it. I always wondered about your George in Tamaqua and what the connection was to the Stockton crew as well as Conrad. I will let you know when I find the connection in Germany. Has to be part of the same family but the connection is back in Germany.

George's mother Barbara (the one in the Tamaqua 1860 census b. 1812) died in Stockton about 1871. Her daughter, Regina Margaretha Weber (married to Johannes Weber) originally lived in Tamaqua *1850 census), and moved to Stockton later on. Luckily Regina died around 1910, so when I get the time to go to Harrisburg I am going to see what her death certificate says for a father. Perhaps it will clear things up for her side. If her mother was born about 1812, and is a widow in the 1850 census, most likely her husband died soon coming to the USA (her son in law Martin Bahrt came in 1847).

Take a look at the Krell message board. Some of them reference Suess and also a Bahrt connection.
