I'm looking for John and Susan Kuchera from Coal Ridge, Noble County, OH and later Akron, OH. I believe they immigrated in 1909-1912 and may have a daugher Susan b.1912. Any relation to you?

My grandmother's parents, Frank Kucera and Mary Minarik, married in Cleveland in 1875, then homesteaded in Nebraska beginning 1877. I believe his siblings and possibly parents stayed in Cleveland.

Frank was born 11 Jun 1854 in Psari, Bohemia.
Mary was born 13 Sep 1859. Valkovice, Caslav, Tabor, Bohemia.

Frank's father may have been named Anton. That's all I know.

I have information on my grandmother, Mary Kucera Holoubek, and her siblings. The oldest child, Frankie, was born in Cleveland and died on the train to Nebraska.

Hello, Martha
Thank you for answering my post. Unfortunately, I can't see any relationship between your Kucera family and mine. My great grandfather, Alois "Louis" Kucera was born in Solopysky, Bohemia in May 1866. He came to the US in May 1887, married Josefa Trpisovsky in New York City in April 1888, then moved on to Cleveland, Ohio in about 1890, where he lived until his death in May 1927. He had siblings who settled in Cleveland also, including a brother Frank, who was born in November 1871. None of your surnames sound familiar to me, but I will keep your info handy in case something comes up to tie things together in the future.
Sorry I couldn't be of help.
Cordially,
Anne

Sorry, have no information about your Kucera. I understand it is a very common name in Bohemia.

Yes, very common, and in the US. All over Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, Illinois, Okla. and new York. This is why I am having a hard time searching for my Kucera Line. Tks for your reply.

Anne, sincerely appreciate your response. Thanks for the encouragement. Having a very difficult time finding my line of Kucera's. Didn't know the Kucera name was going to be that difficult. Fran
