Re: looking for reletives
My grandfather was Stefan Kuc and was born in 1914 in Olesha, Poland. Prior information that I found says that he had 3 children there, but after being a prisoner of war - he was forced to come to the States. I know that his mother was Mary Hunja and father was Zahdan Kuc. If this helps or if you have any information, I would appreciate it.

Re: looking for reletives
Hello, my name is John Kuc and I have a brother also named Philip. Wondering if you know the origin of the name Kuc?

Re: looking for reletives
To my knowledge, the name KUC is actually very popular in Poland. I thought it was shortened also, but found out that it was not. KUC is a very common last name in Poland like SMITH is USA. My maiden name is KUC, and I am from Chicago.

Re: looking for reletives
I was also told that the name was shorten. I heard it had something to do with someone leaving the royal family and changed the name to blend in with the peasants.
