Hello. I have a copy of the death cert for Elmer. The informant on it was a Paul Kron. I got the copy to see if Elmer was of any relation to my Kubas. So far I cant find a link but doesnt meant there couldnt be a relation. My great grandfather was Louis Kuba and was born in Austria. He lived in Akron Ohio after coming to US. Would love to see if there may be a link.

Your great grandfather Louis Kuba from "Austria" may very well be related to my branch. My Vaclav Kuba comes from a small town called Pičín, part of the district of Příbram which lies just south and west of Prague (Praha). Back as recently as 1818 this area was considered part of Bohemia, Austria so I think we are both still talking about the same last name, same place. In fact, Vaclav's Naturalization Petition says, "Pribram Bohemia Austria"

If you haven't already seen it, you should check out the Centennia Historical Atlas which shows you borders at any date. A free download of Napoleonic era up to 1818 is available online. Just Google "Centennia Historical Atlas".

Anyway, my people also lived in Akron, Ohio. I do not have the death cert. for Elmer but would love to see a copy. I also have a Naturalization Petition of Peter Kuba, wife Elizabeth, children Ethel May and Paul James.

Look forward to hearing from you!

There were several Kuba families living in Akron ....I am related to all of them except for Elmer and there was a George Kuba who was also born in Pa... I cant find a relation to those two. Louis Kuba's parents were Daniel Kuba and Susanna Ursiny.... Louis had several siblings and were all born in Skalica which I believe is in present day Czech. I found their birth/baptismal records on familysearch dot org. If you give me an email I will send you Elmers death cert.
