Louis Kawaiolahia Kuamo'o & his wife, Mary Keola Brown-Kuamo'o were relatives of mine...Louis being a half-brother of my late grandfather, Reverend Kaipo Kuamo'o of Hilo, HI.
Uncle Louis served in the U.S. Navy as an Able Seaman during WWI & both he & his wife, Mary, are buried at the Homelani Cemetery in Hilo, HI. I hope this helps.

Aloha,

Pehea Oi? My granduncle Louis Kuamo'o was my paternal
grandfather (the late Rev. Kaipo Kuamo'o, Kahu of the
Kilohana Church on Manono St. in Hilo, HI) younger brother.
Per State of HI DLNR SHPD, my lineal descendancy via my
grandfather Rev. Kaipo Kuamo'o(b.1886 in Pohoiki, Puna, HI;
d. 1973 in Hilo,HI) has been confirmed at Kailua-Kona, HI as a grandson of Ke Ali'i Paiea (King Kamehameha Paiea I, the
Conqueror) via his Po'o-Kahuna Prince son: Prince Kaiwi-Kuamo'o-Kekuaokalani...aka "Kuamo'o" aka "Kekuaokalani."
I have written a book about my g-g-grandfather, Prince Kaiwi-Kuamo'o-Kekuaokalani(k), which U may find interesting
entitled "The Po'oKahuna Prince Who Would Be King of Hawai'i: The Battle of Kuamo'o" which have details. A copy can be found in UHM Hawaiian Collection Library to peruse if interested.

A Hui Hou,

William Afong Kaipo Kuamo'o

Aloha William,

Searching too see if the Kaniho's from Keanae, Maui is related to the Kuamo'o's of the the Island of Hawaii. The Kaniho from Maui was a Konohiki and the last Kahu of the Makehau Heiau in Wailua-nui, Keanae. He also owned the Kaiwi-kuamo'o houselot in Keanae.
I heard that Kekuaokalani and wife Manono lived on Maui for some time, they were close to her family.
