Krygier in Bay City - link to Borowicz/Pawlowski/Kosiorek?
My father's maternal grandfather is Stanislaus Borowicz, married to Maryanna Baranczak. They emigrated to Buffalo NY in 1892. I have hit a dead end at that point, but my dad says he remembers his mother talking about her "cousins": Krygier in Bay CIty MI, Pawlowski in Menasha WI, and Januszak and Kosiorek in Buffalo and Batavia NY. I've found plenty of infomation about them all, including two Krygier-Borowicz marriages. But I haven't found the connection yet.
Dad remembers visiting Josephine (Pawlowski) and Bernard Dryer, and their daughter Marie and son-in-law Milton Walter in Menasha. Dad also remembers going with his mother to the Buffalo train station to meet an older woman from Menasha (likely one of the Pawlowskis) who came for the funeral of Antonina Januszak in March 1937. The funeral was in Buffalo, and the burial was in Batavia (30 miles east of Buffalo).
Thanks for any further information. I'd love to find the common link here!

Have you checked Saginaw, Michigan for a John Borowicz who lived there from the 1880's until he died in 1941 or 42? He married Katherine Brzeczkiewiecz. One of their children was Stanislas, although he died at age 16 in 1914. They had several other sons, only one of whom married. His name was Frank. Two daughters, Hattie and Mary, did marry and each had children. They all lived in Saginaw.

Re: Krygier in Bay City - link to Borowicz/Pawlowski/Kosiorek?
Mark,
I just ran across your posting, and you have Borowicz and Krygier noted both of which are of interest to me.
I'm researching my direct line of Szczupak from the Inowroclaw/Turzany/Parchanie area of Poland.
My records have my Gr.Grandfather Joseph Szczupak (b. 8 Jun 1866 in Turzany) married to Mary/Marianna Borowicz (b. 21 Mar 1874) on 25 Nov 1891 in Parchanie. Marianna was the daughter of Franciszek Borowicz and Cordula Kaminska. Joseph and Marianna had 5 known children, 2 daughters died as infants, and the 3 sons emigrated to the US with them in 1907. One son and Marianna died within weeks after arriving in New York. The other 2 sons, John T Szczupak b. 8 Dec 1896 and Michael Francis Szczupak b. 8 Sep 1892 moved with Joseph and second wife Josephine to Rochester NY. They are in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses. John was my grandfather, married to Regina Kruszynski and died in Chicago in 1961.
Michael Szczupak, married a Valentina Elizabeth Kryg(i)er 19 Sep 1916 in St. Stanislaus Church, Rochester. Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles Krygier and Victoria Serocki, b. 14 Feb 1897. Michael and Valentina had 2 daughters, Anna Victoria Szczupak b. 23 Sep 1917, Rochester, and Florence Mary Szczupak b. 7 Aug 1919 Rochester. Valentina, Victoria and Florence all died 27 Feb 1947 in a fire at the farm in Canadice, NY. Anna married Herman Ebert and d. 31 Aug 1987 in Preston MN, and Michael d. 5 Aug 1959 in Rochester MN.
Somewhere in my notes (probably filed long ago in paperwork, but still remember seeing it), I recall that there was a Dr. Krygier being the physician for the birth of one of the children, or the physician that signed a death certificate for someone in the family - I will have to dig this all out and let you know more.
Do you have any possible connection to this line of Borowicz or Kryger? Any information you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. The family had lost touch in the mid-late '70's with Anna, but I do have other Borowicz connections in the US.
Regards, Maureen Murray Webb

Hi Maureen, I know you wrote this awhile back, but I just found this web-site. My grandfather, Walter Borowicz married Josephine Lewandoski. My father, Casimer (Cass), was one of seven children, born in St. Louis in 1914. The family eventually moved to Detroit, where my father married my mother, Stephanie Ozga.
Could any of these people be part of the Borowicz family you know of?
