Eva and Sandy: My husband's grandfather, Joseph Krygier, visited Detroit sometime in his younger days and may have stayed there a while. His year of birth was1888; not sure where (Poland?); he spoke Polish, German and Russian to our knowledge. Looking forward to learning more!

I know it's been a long time since you posted to the message board but I also have been researching the Krygier family. My grandfathers family changed the "i" to "y" at some point. They were also from MI. The Grand Rapids area. My grandfather was Edward Julius Kryger and was married to Pearl Josephine Shippy. He passed away in 1963 I think and had many relatives. Just thought I'd see if there was any connection. Thanx-Sharyl

My great grandfather, Antoni Krygier (b. 1856 d. 1935) married my Ggrandmother, Julia Bobrowski. Antoni & Julia had 6 children. Their names were Bernard Krygier, Ignatious Krygier, Frances Krygier, Grace Krygier, Florence Krygier and Cecelia Krygier. Some records show the names spelled "KRYGIER" and some records show the names spelled "KRUGER". I understand that my great grandfather, Antoni Krygier was married prior Julia. His first wifes name was Mary and the had several children also. Antoni and Mary came here from Poland. And Antoni met Julia here in Michigan. If anything rings a bell, please email me at eswojtas@i-star.com. Type the surname in the subject line so I do not delete it.
Thanks,
Sandy
