Seeking confirmation of Franz Krska from Bohemia b. 1860 m. Barbora Cermak. b. 1871 Bohemia. They were both Cigar makers and lived in Queens NY. I believe Franz came to the US in 1875 at 15 years old with his parents Franz Krska b. 1829 and Anna (unknown) b. 1823.
Children of of Franz and Barbora were Charles, Joseph and Frank.

Hello, I have Krska relatives in Suffolk Co., New York, not far from Queens. Family tradition says there were seven brothers (siblings?) that came over from Bohemia, and if you will look in New York you will find them. I found a sister, Anna Krska Hruby in New York and would like to find the others. Teresa tadbit@houston.rr.com

If there were 7 brothers, they were not related to Franz or they did not come over together as this is the passanger list I have. Frank came with his wife Anna and children. Eventually the family name was changed to Kriska.

What year did Franz Krska and his family come over? You would be right in that the seven siblings did not come over together. I am also thinking the seven may have included a first cousin or two.
So far I have found Mary Krska Hubel came over about 1851, Albert came over May 1854, Anna Krska Hruby came over about 1857. Barbora Krska and Jan/John Krska also came over. That makes five. Still looking for the other two.
Thanks for your reply, Teresa

Sorry, I didn't realize the image of the passenger list didn't show more detail. My Franz Krska b. 1829, came over on the ship Donau which left from port in Bremen, Germany. It arrived in New York on April 24,1875. He arrived with his wife, Anna Rusuka b. 1823 and children Fauline, Franz and Johann. They originally came from Mahren, Moravia, Bohemia, Austria. This is all the detail I have other than the fact that I can trace them forward from there.

My ancestor, Adalbert Krska, b. 1827 in Bohemia came over in 1854 and settled in Iowa. He changed his name to Albert Wolf, it was easier to say, we are told. A cousin of mine, has done a DNA test at FamilyTreeDNA.com under the project name of KRSKA. I was told that Albert had six other siblings that came to American and if I were to look in NY I would find them. I only have found one for sure in NY and a second in Iowa. Have found a couple of cousins, too. Don't know of any that went to Florida. Did they go to Florida from New York?
