Krob, Werner, Schafer, Scherrer, Jungbluth Families
I have an ancestor, Abraham Krob. I don't have any info on his birth date or place. I do know he was married to Maria Margaretha Werner but I don't have info on her either. Their son, Nicholaus Krob, b. 2 Mar 1794 in New Vrbas, Yugoslavia, d. 21 Nov. 1824 there also. He married Margaretha Shafer, who was born 2 Jul 1801 in same city. Their daughter, Salomea Krob, married Jakob Scherrer and died 26 Sep 1906 in New Vrbas. Their daughter, Elizabetha Scherrer, b27 Feb 1848 in New Vrbas, Yugoslavia is my maternal great-grandmother. She married Martin Jungbluth, b.20 Jul, 1852, in Alt (old) Vrbas on 2 Apr 1876. Their daughter, Maria, b. 15 Apr 1888 in Alt (old) Vrbas and died in Laupheim, Germany in 1967, was one of several children who lived in Switzerland, Hungary, New York City, and Germany. I have no info on many of them and none on the Krob family. Any help with any of these people will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm doing research for my husband, his great-grandfather's lastname was Krob. He was born in czechoslowakia in the 19th century and immigrated to the u.s.in the late 1800's. So far that's all I know of the Krobs. I hope I was able to help.

My father's father was born in czechoslovakia in the 19th century. He married my grandmother here in the US and settled in Cleveland Ohio. My father's name was Frank and his sister was Laura. Both are now deceased. He was adopted as I understand by a man named Krob while still in Czechoslovakia. I have talked to people who have traveled Europe and they tell me the name Krob is very common in Austria. I knew this was more of a germanic name than Czech from talking to others. I understand prior to being adopted his name was something like Jacek. His father who had this Jacek (sic) name was killed in a bar room brawl, allegedly stabbed by another man. His mother than married the man named Krob. Who is your husband and where abouts do you live?

I know that my husbands great-great-grandfather immigrated from czechoslovakia in the 19th century, and settled in the mid-west. I also know that he had seven or eight children, one of them was Joseph Krob. His daughter Mae later married William Bulicek of Illinois, also Czech, and then moved to Arizona with her husband.Joseph Krob died in the early to mid-80's.I don't know how the great-great got his austrian last-name, though. He was czech. My husband's grandmother knows of family-members still in czechoslovakia, but she is a little feeble, and won't share the info.I appreciate all the hep I can get!! Thank you.

I recall now that my grandfather married Martha Nemecek in cleveland ohio. I dont recall his first name and there is no one left to ask. I believe it may have been Frank like my father's but not certain. They lived in cleveland all their lives. He died around 1953, crippled with severe arthritis. Since he was adopted by a man named Krob in Czechoslovakia,,,there may be no relation? Not certain. this is a rare name for certain. I have never run into anyone else named Krob in my entire life that was not part of our family....

I have been researching the Krob name for yrs.Although my grandfather, who was born in the US said he was Czech,I found the name originated in the Rhineland area of Gremany. There are a lot of Krobs in that area. You are correct Krob is not a common name, but the family name has been in this country since the early 1700s. Greg Krob

Well here's another family maybe. My Grandmother's maiden name was Krob. Her Grandmother Sophie, came to America with her 5 children to meet up with her husband, but never found him. She came thru NY and settled in Connellsville, PA. My Grandma never knew what happened to her Grandfather. I don't even know his name, but his 2nd child, I believe, was my Great Grandfather, Jacob. We have always wondered what happened to him. some believe he was killed or just took off from a family too big for him to handle. A mystery! I would love to solve one day.
