Krichbaum/Kuchbaum - Youngstown,OH
I found some Krichbaums living near my Bixler relatives in the 2nd ward of Youngstown in the 1880 census. They appear to be related through the marriage. The same people in the 1870 census appear to be Kuchbaums and Kutchbaums. My grandmother also had a newphew who was a Kuchbaum. Are these two names considered variations of the same name?

Re: Krichbaum/Kuchbaum - Youngstown,OH
After further research, it looks like they are all really Krichbaums. I'm finding a lot of connections between the Krichbaums and the Bixler, Lehn and Ramser families. I think they were all members of the Evangelical Protestant Reformed Church were George A. Krichbaum was choir director.

Krichbaums in Gross Bieberau, Hesse-Darmstadt
I am finding a lot of Krichbaums in the family book of Gross Bieberau, Hesse-Darmstadt along with my Bixler/Hartmann ancestors. Also in the Gross-Bieberauer Heinat und Sippenbuch (1962) they seem to be saying that the first Krichbaum in town was Joh. George Krichbaum, a "wagner" from Knoden who married Susanna Mary Wolf, daughter of Johannes Wagnermeister in 1794
