I am researching Krichbaum's that moved from Germany, and eventually settled in Wyoming.

Gotlieb Krichbaum was the head of the family.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Fred. I believe you know William Krichbaum. I have recently begun the family history for that line. I would be very interested in chatting with you. William, now 80, visited for about 5 weeks and I spent a lot of time getting oral history etc. I understand you may have a good deal of information which may help me piece this together.

Hello. I don't know if you're still interested in Gottlieb Krichbaum, or if you are even still on Ancestry.com. My grandmother was Margaret Krichbaum Hornbrook 2/19/1878 - 7/20/1972. Born in Hessen (Essen) Dormstadt Germany, came to America in 1881 or 1882 when she was about 4 years old. She had an older brother, Gottleib Krichbaum, who liv ed in Rock Springs Wyoming. I think he was a coal miner, wife Mary, had several (12?) children, reportedly very tall. At some point Lemont, Pennsylvania was listed, but not known if they lived there or not. Soon after Margaret,, her parents,Philip K. and Anna Hoffart Krichbaum, and several siblings got to America, mother Anna died and dad Philip had to put some of the younger children (or at least one of them, my grandma Margaret,) in an orphanage -- in Marwood, PA according to her daughter, my Aunt Margaret. I have a bit more information on her, but cannot find anything on Gottleib. Phillip died in 1903 and is buried in Pennsylvania. Do you have any information? Love to hear from you. clr514@aol.com

Hello. Just saw your posting from over a year ago on infor about the Wyoming Krichbaums. I dont know if this is the same family or not, but here goes. My grandmother was Margaret Krichbaum Hornbrook 1878-1972. Born in Hessen (Essen) Dormstadt Germany, came to Americain 1881 or 1882 when she was about 4 years old. She had an older brother, Gottleib Krichbaum, who lived in Rock Springs Wyoming. I think he was a coal miner, had a wife Mary, and several (maybe 12?)children. At some point Lemont, Pennsylvania was listed in my families memories, but not sure if Gottleib lived there. Soon after Margaret, her parents, Philip K and Anna Hoffart Krichbaum and several siblings got to America, Anna died. Philip had to put some of the younger children (or at least one of them, my grandma Margaret) in an orphanage, reportedly in Marwood, Pa. I have a bit more information, but cannot find anything on Gottleib. Philip died in 1903 and is buried in Pennsylvania. Do you have any information on the family?
