Charles was born in Baltimore, Md. in 1856. His mother's name is Wilhelmina and she was from Hesse Darnstadt, in Germany. She had another son,Lewis, born in Washington, D.C. in 1862. I know nothing about the father on this little family, but assume his name was Krich and that he was probably from Hesse Darnstadt. Some time after 1862, Wilhelmina married a William Rocker and is shown in the 1870 census as living in Bladensburg, Md. with Wm. Rocker and her two sons (listed as Rocker's stepsons). The 1880 census shows the Krich/Rocker family living in Washington, D.C. with 2 grown stepsons and 3 children of their own. Charles Krich married sometime in 1880 or early 1881 to Emma Leypoldt. They had 5 children before 1900. All of these children had the name of Krich, and are shown that way on the 1900 census in Beltsville/ Bernwyn Heights, Md. In 190l my father was born. I do not have his birth certificate, but in 1910, the entire Krich family was shown on the census as "Rocker". I do believe my maiden name should have been Krich and not Rocker. Would appreciate any help you can give me on the early Krich family in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Hess Darnstadt. Thank you.

Hi, I was born in Moscow, Russia in 1944. My father was born in Yuzovka, Ukraina in 1911. It is quite possible that the Krich and Krichak families have the same roots. Since 1990 my family lives in Israel. Simon

Hi,
I have researched the Krich Family back to Poznan, Germany ( now Poland) My grandmother was a Krich. My relatives came through New York and settled in Illinois, from 1860's thru 1899. I received most of my information on when they got to the States from a Book called "Germans to America" It was in the Reference section of my Library that has a Geneology Section. Please let me know if you need anything else. I also found their named spelled Krick, Creek, Creech, Krieg, Craig so you may want to check the different spellings as well.
Hope this helps.

Hi -
I'm also a Krich on my mother's side of the family. They're from Schlesweig Holstein in northern Germany. The family name was originally Krieghof.
Their name was changed when they immigrated to the US at the turn of the (last) century. Apparently immigration officers didn't like names translating to "War House".
My great grandfather was Nicholas Krich. He lived in Chicago most of his life. He came here with his parents when he was 16, around 1900.

My grandfather was from the Ukraine! We think his family name had been Krichevsky and was changed when he came to America, but maybe that's wrong?

Iwearelooking for information on my grandfather, Max Krichevsky. He lived in Woodbine NJ. He immigrated from Russia in 1900 or 1901. He lived in Phila.. Pa.. until about 1902 and then moved to Woodbine NJ. His name appeared on the 1910 census. He was, at that time, age 40. His wife's name was Fannie or Fega. She was 30 years old at that time. My mother's name was Ida. She was 9 years old. She had 2 brothers, David and Harry, and one sister, Rose. Thank you for any information you can provide. My husband is James Agre
