My great great grandfather William Brant (b. November 30, 1832 in St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada) and Catherine Margaret Kreamer (Oct 9, 1837 in Barton, Ontario) were married on November 25, 1858 in Shullsburg, Wisconsin.

They had 8 children.

Angus Brant, b. 1860.
Atta V. Brant, b. 1862
Alva Vitora Brant, b. 1864 (my great grandfather)
Hattie K. Brant, 1868
Anna Pernell Brant, b. 1871
Gertrude Sigourni Brant, b.1874
Eliza Winifred Brant, b. 1877
Ines Alma Brant, b. 1879.

Alva Vitora Brant is my great grandfather.

I am very interested in knowing your source for Elizabeth Meyer as the wife of John Peter Kreamer as you mentioned in your note. My family tree shows Elizabeth Hendershot as his wife. Here is one source for that.

In "Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine" vol 43-45, page 604 it mentions: "John Matthias Kreamer, a Hessian officer in the British Army, after serving 3 days, went over to the American forces and fought for the American Independence, and after the war taught school near Trenton, NJ. On October 20, 1785, he married Anna Rosina Hart; had Eve, John, Peter, Jacob, Daniel and Juliana; there was another son and daughter; the daughters married men named Pysher, Trimmer and Anderson, the latter living at Parma Corners NY. John Peter married Elizabeth Hendershot of New Jersey b abou 1792-3. She had one sister, Mrs Dr. Schamp of Gaines Corners, NY. Wanted, ancestry of Anna Rosina Hart and Elizabeth Hendershot and official proof of service of John Kreamer."

But, in ArchivesCanada.co, Elizabeth Sininger is John Peter Kreamer's wife:

"John Matthias Kreamer (b. 3 February 1757) married Anna
Rosina Hart (b. 20 August 1756) on 20 October 1783. Their eldest son, John Peter Kreamer (b. 18 March 1791) in Lebanon, N.J.) married Elizabeth Sininger, also of
New Jersey. After spending three years in New York, John Peter, his wife, and five children immigrated to Canada in 1831. Five more children were born in Canada. In 1851, John Peter and his wife moved with one of their sons, John and his family, to Wisconsin."

The fact that your source shows Elizabeth Meyer dying in Shullsburg, WI, is significant.

Another mystery is William Brant's mother and father. If you have any info on them, let me know. I have William Brant's death certificate showing his father's name was Walter Brant (b. about 1796) and his mother's name was Margaret Young (b. about 1800?) both of Canada. On my family tree, it shows Henry or Heinrich Brant and Mary Young. My uncle may not have had access to William Brant's death certificate. The names are very similar, however. If anyone else knows info about William Brant's parents, I'd appreciate it if you would reply to this.

Thanks so much.

Surnames: Kreamer Lininger Brant Meyer Hendershot
Post note: I received a copy of the updated family tree from my mother that shows John Peter Kreamer's wife as Elizabeth Lininger (not Elizabeth Meyers) as parents of Catharine Margaret Kreamer who married William Brant on November 25, 1858 in Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin. Tree shows Elizabeth Lininger's parents as Daniel Lininger and Elizabeth Anthony, dates unknown. Elizabeth Lininger was born on August 30, 1799 and died February 11, 1877.

Elizabeth Lininger married John Peter Kreamer on December 13, 1817. They had 11 children.

The name Lininger along with all the dates was supplied by a Mr. Kreamer (private) and my uncle changed Hendershot to Lininger on the updated family tree.

He kept the conflicting info on the family tree regarding Elizabeth Hendershot as a note.
