I am looking for information about Abraham Krabbe from the Netherlands, probably in the vicinity of Kerkwerve. His son was Hendrik (Krabbe) Ringelberg b. 23 Feb. 1831 in Kerkwerve to Jacomijntje Ringelberg. It is my belief from family stories that Abraham Krabbe may have been Jewish. Hendrik emigrated to the Detroit, Mi area where I believe he was a railroad worker and changed his name to Ringelberg at the suggestion of his Ringelberg relatives who were also railroad workers there. He eventually moved to Grand Haven, MI where he died 17 Apr. 1909.

From what I know, Abraham Krabbe was jewish. All of the children between him and Jacomijntje took the Ringelberg lastname. He was married before/during his time with Jacomijntje, to Dina Verboom. To my knowledge he was Jewish, and Jacomijntje was a shopkeeper.
