Am looking for info on Christina Krabbe b. 4/23/1851 in Prussia, immigrated abt.1866, settled in Elgin, Illinois, m. John C. Matz in 1873, 5 children, Minnie C., John H., Carl A., Frank G., Fred. Her mother was Mary Krabbe, b. 1813 and was living with Christina and John in 1880 in Elgin. She came over with brothers. Would like to learn of brothers and Mary's family. Thanks!

That is all I can find out about her before she came to the US. From her obituary: Mrs. Matz, who was born in Hamburg, Germany, April 3, 1851, had lived in Dakota County 55 years. She came here when she was 15 with her brothers, who left Germany to escape military service in the Franco-Prussian war. She went to Elgin, Ill. after landing in this country and came across the old Pontoon bridge over the Missouri in 1893 to Dakota county
