John Ralph Johnson was the son of Cyrenius Johnson (b. 1812 I believe the Niagara area of Upper Canada, d. after 1881, somewhere in Ontario ?), and the 3rd wife to Cyrenius, Jane Ferguson (b. 29 Aug 1811, London District, Upper Canada, d. 13 Feb 1881, Aylmer, Malahide Twp., Elgin Co., Ontario, Canada). John Ralph's sister from this marriage, Mary Jane Johnson, was my gg-grandmother.

John Johnson, born Canda, April 1841, "House Carpenter" married to Hannah, 37, born Ont., March 1863 with children, "Delene" 16, born May 1884, William, 12, born May 1888 both at Ontario. Also with them is Albert Philips, an uncle, 29, Iron Welder, born England March 1871 with his wife Barbara, 29, born Ont. April 1871, and brother-in-law John McKay, 31, born March 1869, Ontario. He is a grain scooper. John and Hannah have been married 17 years. She had two chilren who are both living. Hannah indicates that her perents were born in Scotland. The family emmigrated to Buffalo in 1894.

OBITUARY
The body of JOHN RALPH JOHNSON was brought to Aylmer on the Wabash Tuesday morning from Buffalo, and laid to rest in the Burdick Cemetery. Deceased passes away at his home in that city Saturday morning, after an illness of some four months. The late Mr. JOHNSON was a former resident of this district, having kept hotel at Mt. Salem and New Sarum for some years, moving to Buffalo about 25 years ago. he was twice married and besides his wife, one son and four daughters survive; WILLIAM R., Vancouver; Mrs. D. HAIST, Toledo; Mrs. C. POWERS, Fredono, N.Y.; Mrs. WILLIAM NICKSON, Toledo; Miss DELLA, Buffalo, Mr. A. SOPER is a brother-in-law, Mrs. JOHN MATTHEWS, a sister-in-law, Mrs. ARTHUR LAIDLAW, Mrs. GEO FRIZELL and Miss EUTERPA MATTHEWS are nieces and Mr. J. W. MATTHEWS is a nephew.

OBITUARY
The remains of the late HANNAH JOHNSON, relict of the late JOHN ROSS (sic) JOHNSON, who passed away in her 59th year, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. JACKSON, of Buffalo, on Thursday, May 5th, were brought to Aylmer on the Wabash, Sunday, and taken to the Burdick cemetery, Talbot Street East for interment. Deceased is survived by three daughters, and one son; Mrs. O. E. POWERS, of New York State; Mrs. JACKSON, Buffalo; Mrs. LUX, of Toledo, Ohio, amd WILLIAM, of Vancouver, B.C. The late Mr. and Mrs. JOHNSON were residents of this district years ago.
