Hello there,
my last name is Kowalzik - that's the East Prussian version of this name which has it's roots in Poland and means nothing else but ... Smith! That's why you find so many of them ...
(the main syllable is "Kowal", the "zik" or "czyk" is a diminuitive, i.e. "little Smith" or "Schmidtchen").
Hope this is of some help.

Hi My great grandfather Stanley Kowalczyk lived in Chicago during about 1910 ish to somewhere in the 1920's the family lived between there and Oglesby, IL. In 1910 Stanley's brothers lived in Oglesby. (All in Oglesby in the 1910 Census)As far as I can tell there was Micheal, John, Anton and Jacob. I know John and Anton had several children not sure about Micheal and Jacob. Anton and Stanley both died in Oglesby, Not sure where the other 3 went. If this family sounds familiar please feel free to contact me. Thanks! Tracey

Hi. I was born Jason Andrew Kowalczyk. Born in NJ. Had alot of relatives (Adair) in PA. As far as I know Tamaqua, Pa.

My father, John Warren Kowalczyk had 8 brothers and sisters all named Adair. His mother told me once that a man named Kowalczyk ( I never asked first named) was " with" her while she was pregnant qith my father and the hospital put his name on the birth certificate.

That's all I know. I hope to find more of my family one day.
