I have a Willam Kough, but he was born in the late 1700s or early 1800s. It is possible that that our lineages might connect somehow, but as of now I cannot help any further. Please keep posted if you get back to a George Kough (1765-1835) who came to Saltillo, Huntingdon Co PA from Germany. He had 6 boys (George, David, Samuel, Jacob, Joseph, and William) and 1 daughter (Sally).

I have found my William b. 1809 on a census and on the same census I found another William b. 1812 and a Jacob b.1821. I was wondering if these Koughs of the same township and county and state. All are farmers if they could be related?
William b. 1809 age 41
William b. 1812 age 38
Jacob b. 1821 age 29

Let me know what you think.

Does the son of your George Kough (1765-1835), George II, have a birthdate around 1795? My George (b.abt 1795) lived in Huntingdon County also and married Phebe CHAMBERS. I am trying to find out if they had a son named Alexander b. abt 1826. Thanks!! I can be reached at vdiluciano@yahoo.com

I'm not sure you'll get this as your post is really old. Edward Kough is my husband's step-grandfather. Please contact me @ barbminerd@yahoo.com if you would like more info.

The William I have is born 1809 or 1810. He is shown on the 1850 census with a wife Sarah and son Edward and William. (Edward is the line we are from). The family lived in BlackLick Co. Pennsylvania. Edward and one other Kough moved to Kansas, it seems they lost contact with the PA. folks. I have a death certificate of Edward showing his dad was a Kough and Mom was a Milligan.

Updating this post:
The Young William on the 1850 census I believed died before the next rotation of census's.
I need information on William Sr. b. 1809 or 1810. His wife Sarah and his daughter Sarah.
Also his son Edward b. 1833 married Elizabeth Rugh.

I believe my Edward is related to the Andrew Kough who came to Kansas sometime in 1860 (not sure on that date). Both are fairly close to the same age and live not to far from each other in Kansas. I do know Edward's father was born in Pennslvania unsure of the first name due to it isn't on the death certificate, his mothers last name on the death certificate was Milligan. Again no first name. He married a Elizabeth Ruth Rugh.
