I have an update on my father-in-law Mike Kott. His real name was Akim Kot and he was from the village of Pulmo,in Ukraine. He was a fireman in the Russian Volunteer Navy fleet (his brother may have been in the Navy also). In Jan. of 1917 his ship Vologda was in New York then went to Canada where he decided to get off. He went back to New York where he had a friend from the village of Pulmo by the name of Alexander (last name began with M)that may have helped him stay in this country (possible political assylam?)as far as we know his brother stayed in Canada. We dont' know his name, my father-in-law would not talk about his past, not even sure how he got the name Mike. Any information about this ship, or village, anything would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kathy Kott
