I am descended from the same Kos line.
I grew up in MN and know/knew the people you mention. Louise Krob Weber just celebrated her 85th birthday earlier this month.
Your great-grandmother's parents were Joseph and Anna Kos. They lived in Mower County, MN and each summer a family reunion is still held there because that is where the majority of the clan lived and farmed until recent years. In the 1970s someone did a family tree for the descendents of Joseph and Anna Kos and distributed it at the reunion. I can probably get a copy of it from my dad, Ron Kos, who is the oldest son of Charles Kos -- your great-grandmother's brother.
James and Anna Kos had nine children that lived -- 11 all together. The ones who lived (siblings of your great grandmother) were: Anna (Funfar) of Myrtle, MN; Mamie (Sticha) of Clarissa, MN; Libby (don't know her married name) or where she lived, Lottie(Bednar) of Austin, MN; Josephine or "Josie" (Krob) of Austin, MN; James who lived around the Owatonna or Faribault, MN area; Frank who lived in southeastern MN; Charles who farmed near Myrtle, MN; and Edward of Austin, MN. This is not the correct birth order except I know Anna was the oldest and Charles and Edward were the youngest.
Your great-grandmother was called "Aunt Josie" when I was little and she made the world's best kolaches.

I am married to Stephen Kos, his father was Kenneth James Kos, Ken's father was Frank who was married to Rose Dostart. Frank's father was John Kos married to Pauline Moser. If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear back from you to see if you have any "missing pieces" of our family tree!

I am thrilled that you responded to my email from 2000. I am running into a lot of blocks in my attempt to find out about my maternal grandmotherm Marie Anna Kos. I know that her mother was Marie Anna Mazera and her father was Frank Kos. My grandmother came to the US in the early 1900's. She claimed that she was born in 1888 in Prague. I say "claimed" because I have discovered she had a lot of secrets . My grandmother died in 1970. She had 5 brothers, Adolph, Frank, Jerry, Joe and Louis. Frank and Louis came to the US. She had 2 sisters, Rose and Anna Marie. One of them married a Janko. My grandmother married John (?) Ponchek, from Prussia, when she came to the states. She spent time in Kansas and Colorado and then moved to Michigan when my mother and uncle were in their teens. (1930's). If anyone reading this can help me make any sense out of what I do know I would appreciate it.

You talked about Anna Funfar, is this the same one that married Albert Pacovsky? If so, do you have any more information about her or any of the other Funfar family?
Thanks!
