Leeann, The Kos Family that you are a part of came directly to Iowa when they immigrated in 1865 from Bohemia.
The area they came from was in the Beroun area just SW of Prague. The families of 2 Sisters settled in Washington Co., IA . They were Catholic in Bohemia but just a very few remained thet in America. These were the families of Kos and Sojka.

Hello,
I come from Czech Republic and I maybe related to Kos family. My Grand-grandfather (Josef Kos) was from 6 children. They all come from little czech village Podmokly. Five of them (Vaclav, Karel, Anna, Emilka, Marie) together with their mother (Františka) went to the USA, but my grand-grandfather (Josef) stayed here in Czech Republic. He got married with Marie Aloise Oliveriusova and their oldest son Vaclav went to the USA (Austin) to his relatives. Vaclav stayed in contact with us until his death in 1964 but then we lost contact.
I would like to find my relatives and continue in correspondence so we can complete our family tree.
I hope to get some message.

Saw your old posting re Kos family, but noted that your name was Pacovsky and that you were also searching the name Kral and Funfar. All these names are in my history. My ancestors came from the Radnice area, various town and parishes. I am also looking for descendents of Ignac Funfar and Anna Kop. He was born in Radnice, I think. She in Vejvanov. Their children were Josef, James, Anna, Mary, Ignac, and Jennie, probably all born in Pennsylvania. Can you make any connection. Jan
