Could your Kopacz ancestors be from Slovenia,
formerly Austria-Hungary? You might consider
looking at that possibility.

Looking for information about Stanislaw Kopacz (d. 1949 N. Walpole, NH). He emigrated with his wife Sophia Smuda/Zmuda in 1903. Emigrated from Austria-Hungary and originally settled in New Britain, CT. Moved to the Bellows Falls, VT/Walpole, N.H. a few years later.

Jennifer,
I had recently obtained the ships manifest and naturalization records for my gr-grandfather, Stanislaw KOPACZ (b. 2/14/1884 Galicia, Austria d. 10/20/1959 Bellows Falls, VT). Unfortunately we are having problems deciphering the bad script on both documents so we are not sure what town he came from. We suspect that the town would be Lonchka, Louchka or Lonczka or Louczka. Yet, we cannot find a town of those names anywhere in Galicia, Austria. One genealogist suggested that it would be the town Laczki or Laczka.
All that we do know at this point is that he came from a town in the province of Galicia, Austria. Could our families be linked?

Perhaps I can help..... Tell me about your Kopacz ancestors and where they lived. I have traced my Kopacz branch to Poland.
