Do you know where they lived in SLovenia? Or, when they came to the US? I am not familiar with Emil and his wife but that doesn't meen anything with this surname. I do know that there aren't that many Kopac's in Slovenia anymore and that they came from Trizc, Zigana Vas, and a couple more areas. Thanks, Theresa

Emil was my father, Albert's, brother. Their father was John. I believe the name was VonKopac when he came through Ellis Island at the turn of the century. I also know that Emil and wife Charlotte did a very sketchy tree when they visited the family many years ago. I came upon this site accidentally and so I will look for the list my aunt gave me.

My uncle was Emil, but we all grew up in Pullman on the south east side of Chicago. I know his father, John, came from Slovenia at the turn of the century, about 1907 (???) I don't know if they came straight from Ellis Island to Chicago or what. This may not be the same Kopac. It might be a relative though.

I am not shure if I have a Emil in my family line. I do know that my Kopac's came from Austria/Slovenia. Where did your's come from. Theresa

My uncle Emil's father John, came from Austria (now Slovenia). Emil passed away some years back. I think he was born around 1915 ??? I know all the kids were born in the home I grew up in @ 11246 S. Langley Ave. Chicago Il. (My dad being the youngest born in 1920) Are we talking about the same person ??? :-)
